Newbie And Surgery Coming Up....
Vicki Loichinger replied to melissaAmorgan2012's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
well my story is a bit different because I was scheduled for Nov 7, did the two week pre op and one day clear liquid (wasn't bad at all) was about to be wheeled into surgery when doc comes in and says your blood sugars are too high we are going to reschedule you for Dec. 5. I was devastated to say the least. SO now I have been working hard to get my blood sugars down, still sorta eating the pre op diet which is shakes and one low carb meal. But I will start it 100% day after thanksgiving. and hope everything goes my way on teh 5th. I have been dealing with some sort of kidney uti or something since saturday, on an antibiotic and waiting for family doc to call and tell me what the tests showed, Hopefully just a uti that the anitbiotics will take care of and I can get some blood sugars down and will be a go for December 5th. I feel like I had kinda a trial run, so at least I know what happens up to a point. If I wasn't in pain from whatever this is I would be in great shape. I have lost 20 pounds on the since july so that is good. -

how very disappointing. I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could say that would help, but since I am in sorta the same boat, had my surgery rescheduled while waiting to go back to the OR, because of my blood sugars too high. Sent home, could eat normal for two weeks then another two week pre op diet, heck I am just staying on the pre op diet. I have come this far. So my surgery is Dec 5 when is yours?

Blood Sugars.
Vicki Loichinger replied to eeyoregirl1970's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be very interested in seeing how you go with this. 80% of the reason I am having this surgery is due to the diabetes. I am so insulin resistant and they just keep pumping me fuller and fuller with it and it causes weight gain and inflamation in every part of my body. Somedays I can't life my hands above my heard to blow dry my hair, Wising you the very best and hoping so much this is the answer to oru diabetes problems. or that at least the need for insulin is lessened. -

Bj Bariatrics...problems Anyone?
Vicki Loichinger replied to eeyoregirl1970's topic in Food and Nutrition
I just got an email that they were out of the vitamins that I ordered and they are hoping for a shipment first of the week, but no guarentees, they are going to go ahead and send me the rest of my order which was protein. I knew something must be wrong, cause this place has just always been so effeicent and reliable. They are located here in Indy and I have met the owners at a support group on the other side of town. Send them an email I am sure they will get back to you. -
