? About Psych Eval For Gastric Bypass
Vicki Loichinger replied to Ab1986's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wellllll I don't think I exactly passed, but didn't fail. Questions both verbal and took a test. And then he decided after compiling all the info that I should see the counselor at the barbaric center for three months. I think it was because I am a revision from lap band to RNY. He wanted to make sure I could succeed. At the time I felt like he was on a power trip and did it just cause he could. You know like you can't possibly pass everybody so I was the one to prove his worth on. But I did it, didn't like it, didn't feel like it helped anything, but jumped through them hoops. And was approved. -
great job, happy dance all around

happy dancing for you tkd, that is like a Thanksgiving day Miracle. -
I love the shaker ball for protein drinks. I used a bullet type blender to mix yougurt with protein and pudding mix, but I lock it up a lot. I have been through two bullets and then this one. Really a standard good blender works best, just seems like a hassel to clean. I am thinking about getting one of those hand/wand type blenders. Anyone use those?

Was It Worth It? Yes!
Vicki Loichinger replied to cwctx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that is wonderful simply wonderful. so glad you are doing well. Wishing you more and more successful days as the time goes by. -
one to two weeks if they have everything they requested for approval, sometimes they ask for something else, but at least you know they are looking at your file, and a day or two after approval they call with a surgery date. so you are in the home stretch. I know it is hard. Try to keep busy and read here and learn all you can and be as prepared as possible. Very soon you are going to be on the losers bench.

Diabetics On Liquid Diet?
Vicki Loichinger replied to fireandice36's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
well I am not on the pump, but i do take u500r (comentrated insulin) and I was so worried about going low I erred on the side of not taking as much as I should have, so day of surgery my blood sugar was too high (I knew it was) so they canceled the surgery. SO please call your ENDO now and see what they can work out for you so that you don't get too high or too low. Cause me being my own doc sure didn't work out for me. lol. It was pretty devastating waiting to be wheeled back and the doc come in and say your sugars are too high and you won't heal properly and he just didn't feel right operating. So I am scheduled for Dec. 5. But still have the problem with high and low. It may be something that your endo would want you off the pump and on shots or something. I don't know but call. Wishing you the best, And you really wonder how in the world drinking liquids can still give you a 300 blood sugar. I think air raises mine. -
glad you are home. How long do you have to have the drain? Wishing you the very best and hope everyday is better and better,
