Needing Revision Surgery
Vicki Loichinger replied to copmom's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I have not had the band problems you have had, but the band just didn't help me with my health issues. I am having it removed tomorrow and RNY done. Hoping the RNY will resolve or improve my Type 2 Diabetes. I hope you get approved and soon. It sounds miserable to be going what you are going through. I never lost a lot of weight or kept it off with the band. But I never had a slip or anything. Got foods stuck a lot. Reverted to soft foods high in carbs way to often. Just wish I had had the RNY the first time around (seven years ago) but the band seemed best to me at the time. I don't regret it, just I failed it or it failed me, maybe a bit of both. Wishing you the very best -
Thank you Sky. Sure feels good knowing I have the support from folks here. Nobody understands like we do. My family is supportive but still hard for them to grasp. Hugs to you.

New To The Group
Vicki Loichinger replied to taleea30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome. Sending you healing thoughts and prayers. Like the others said. It will get better each day, but not all at once. And you may have a few good days, then pow you will feel like you got knocked back down for a day. All this is normal for any surgery. So glad you are getting your fluids and protein in. That is way more than half the battle. You are healing. Stay hydrated. Sip Sip Sip, Walk Walk Walk, Rest Rest Rest, and then repeat. Hugs to you -
Dealing With Judgmental Idiots
Vicki Loichinger replied to 1972's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can't add anything the others haven't. Don't doubt yourself. Everyone has an opinion. See I just had to add something, lol. You will do great. Please do follow all your doc's instructions. Get your protein in, stay hydrated, TAKE YOUR VITAMINS. Day by Day you are going to be healthier and you are adding years to your life, I believe that. -

Need Some Encouragement (This Is Going To Be Long)
Vicki Loichinger replied to Vicki Loichinger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WELLLLLLL it looks like I will be having surgery tomorrow. Just left the Gyno office and he talked to the Barbaric Surgeon and recommended go ahead with surgery and remove the ovary at the same time. So unless I hear something different this afternoon I am on clear liquids and mentally preparing myself. Please say some prayers for me. I have been up and down and all over the place, I thought for sure it would be postponed again. I am in a bit of shock right now. -
Today Is Surgery Day!
Vicki Loichinger replied to lisamcgowin's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Praying for you. I will (thank goodness) be doing the same tomorrow, along with an ovary being removed. We got this. -
Thank you. I am going to have an internal makeover, lap band out, new pouch, intestine reroute and an ovary with a mass on it removed. Heck there won't be anything left in there. I am in shock. But you are right a lot less time to really worry. I will let you know as soon as I can

November 2012 Members Post Op
Vicki Loichinger replied to crstalww's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are so cool. I needed that today. I am a day away from finding out if I will be having surgery on Wednesday or not. So I need to laugh, sing and whatever else I can think of to keep myself sane. Most the time I am ok. But then these blues just come over me. But what will be will be and I have to trust that God knows what is best. -
We are here for you, reach out whenever you want or need too. Wishing you a great week, and that surgery is uneventful. Hugs to you both

Helppppp...going Crazy
Vicki Loichinger replied to lovealways's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday the 5th. But the Gyno will make the call on Tuesday. They found a mass on my right side and a cyst on my ovary and calcification. I am not really in any pain right now. But I don't know if this is something they will say can wait till after the bypass. I had a partial hysterctomy about 20 years ago, they only left the right ovary. At that time there was a tumor (non cancerous) size of a volleyball that weighted 5.5 pounds on left ovary. So I am not overly worried about this problem. But I am sure it should be taken out. Wish they could do it at the same time. -
Helppppp...going Crazy
Vicki Loichinger replied to lovealways's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i sure understand the other medical things that can push this surgery out. First it was my blood sugars too high, and now have to deal with some ovary problem. Scheduled for Wed. but have to get approval from a Gyno Doc on Tues. I really can't see this happening. I bet I end up having to have the ovary problem taken care of first. I am not sure how long my approval is good for. That is a good question. I just have to believe that the healthier we can be going into the surgery the more successful we will be. So I am trying to look at it that way. Best wishes. Hope you get answers and can move forward. -
welcome and oh that stinks. You have had to be so disappointed and the deductible is awful. I wish you the best. This sort of think is so frustrating. You will find yourself in good company with this group. Lots of support and info. Again Welcome.

Waiting...
Vicki Loichinger replied to Debbiebydesign's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome and like the others have said the waiting is so hard. And things that are out of our control, like the requirements or not knowing what that particular provider might require, or clerical errors, are so so frustrating. Wishing you the best and we are so glad you are here. -

Bye Bye 300's!
Vicki Loichinger replied to Anniesmom12's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Annie thank you so much for sharing that. Gave me goosebumps thinking how you must have felt this morning. And know that on a daily basis you feel so much better that you seek out activity. I am so (pre op) stuck in the mind set and body of doing as little as absolutely unnecessary that that Is my dream to have energy and drive to do more every day. So happy for you.. Keep up the great work. -
3 Months And 3 Weeks Update
Vicki Loichinger replied to rpil003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
what a transformation. I like that "happy in my own skin" you really do look amazing. Wishing you continued success and health. -
Tuesday was the soonest I could get in to see any Gyno. This one isn't mine, he was just in the practice when I had my boys nearly 30 years ago. My family doc is all I have seen in several years for paps and stuff. So I find out last tuesday that I have to do this and start calling around and even this doc's nurse didn't think I could get in, but she put me on hold and came back with this coming tues at 11. I just can't see how someone who doesn't know me could say it was ok to have the surgery on Wed. Even with the ultrasounds and an exam. I understand your PCP and he is right, but it just doesn't work that way it seems. Nobody plays by the same rules, PCP, Surgeon, Insurance and then all the other specialists in between. It is crazy.
