    Needing Revision Surgery

'Wonderful news. Same day approval is beyond awesome. The holidays and all the busy time will help the time pass quickly and then you will be able to have the surgery and start healing and get on track and feel better, this is my prayer. I am doing pretty good today, seventh day out.

New 1 A Day Bariatric Vitamin!

I have eight incisions all around my belly so I can't really tell which surgery was where, whole belly sore. But from what I understand there wasn't a problem getting it out. I haven't heard anything about a pathology test on cyst and mass, but I am going with no news is good news right now,. Too much to think about with taking care of this pouch. Doc did say he removed a lot of scar tissue so I am sure that is part of the soreness. I think they just had a hay day while there where in there.

    Caffeine/Coffee

A hot cup of tea would taste really nice right now. Wonder if I could. I thought it had more caffeine in it then coffee and caffeine is a no no to my doc.

    So upset right now

So frustrating. So very frustrating. And why must you give something another month just because this is the first time they saw you.. Basically they want another month, you have had six. Beyond Nuts. Things like this make me so mad. I mean seriously does this medical person think you would come in and say you had diarrhea and smelly gas for six months and that something is wrong, if it wasn't. Come on. Ok off my rant.

New 1 A Day Bariatric Vitamin!

These vitamins mess with my mind, I mean the figuring out what to take when ect. It is a full time job to get liquids and vitamins in. I hope my nutritionist approves of these once a day. Cause taking things two three and maybe five times a day is just mind blowing. Good luck everyone. And if anyone has an easy to remember schedule of vitamins please let me know. I feel like I have spent a fortune already in viatmins even before the Surgery last wednesday. I just want it to be simple. Is that too much to ask? lol

    December 2012 Post Op Group

That is exactly how I felt the whole week before, one minute excited the next just numb, like oh well do what you will with me. If you can keep your self occupied that will help. I didn't and it made for some miserable long days. So if you feel like finishing up a project or something do it. Cause idle thoughts make us nuts. lol. Will be praying for you and wishing you all the best

Thank you Lady I missed you guys too. But just couldn't get my head straight about getting on line. Those meds mess with a person. They are needed, but they do kinda pull the rug out from under you. Glad to be home and back here with everyone.

    Hi

Welcome. I had surgery on the 5th. Got home yesterday. I am doing pretty good i think. I was pretty out of it for the first few days. I know I should have walked more. Today trying to come up with a plan to get the things in I need to. I have already gotten a protein shake down and about 6 ounces of gatorade 2. So I am off to a good start. Didn't sleep long, but slept well in my own bed last night. Up way to early. Will nap in a bit. How are you doing. This place is full of info and support you are going to be so glad you found us.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. You will do great. Just stay ahead of the pain, don't be afraid to ask for the pain meds. Walk as soon as you can. sip sip sip, walk walk walk and rest rest rest, repeat. You hear it before surgery but it becomes real when you are there. Hugs to you.

'I will be praying for you today and the coming days. Just take everything at a slow pace and know that you may feel bad one hour and much better the next, then a little more pain the next, but it keeps improving and the better stays around longer everytime. Hope this makes sense. I still have some pain meds in me. Pain was very manageable. Do walk as soon as you can and for as much as you can. I could and should have done a lot better in that area. Wishing you the very best.

Dear Dec Surgery Friends. I am so sorry to have been missing in action this past five days. I got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. I thought I would be giving you guys constant updates. But wham. I didn't have the motivation to even open my lap top or anything. If I posted anything nutty I am sorry. I was pretty looped on Thurs and some of Friday. So I will try to catch up here. On Wed the 5th went in for surgery. Only really bad thing, and I am sharing this because I think I should be honest and not blow butterflies up everyones behind, is I was intubated while awake. (This happened when I was banded and one of my biggest fears) Now my situation with the severe asthma and COPD and small mouth and short throat made this necessary. But it was awful. I will not lie, it was awful But i don't think this is anything the majority of people have to worry about. And I did get through it. Surgery that was performed was the removal of the band, the RNY, adhesions and scar tissue removed (quite a bit from what the doc said) and then a Gyno surgeon came in and removed the ovary and mass and cyst. I have eight incision sites. Pain hasn't been horrible at all. I mean don't get me wrong there was pain. But not as bad as you would think. I am working hard at getting liquids in. Nothing has come back up or anything. Ate a few times 2 ounces of full liquids. I do not feel hungry at all. Today will be me trying to work out some sort of schedule to get stuff in. Woke up way to early, So I am thinking a couple of naps will be in order. Slept in my own bed which was nice. Had no trouble sleeping on my sides. Abdominal binder was a good thing. I have it off right now. They put it on in surgery and it stayed on till I got home. And it may go back on at some point today. There is so much to tell. I will get to it through out the day. I really apologize for not being here for all of you and not letting you know how things were going. I was just so out of it. Thought of you all. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts. Please keep them coming. I think this is a long journey and we sure need each other.
  13. Hi first of all just a bit of background. I am a 57 year old waiting for revision from band to rny. I was approved for surgery. On Nov 7, Minutes before being taken back for surgery Doc comes in and says my Blood sugars are too high and we need to postpone surgery till Dec 5 and to work with my endo to get the sugars under better control (i am very uncontrolled which is my reason for wanting the surgery) meanwhile I begin having really severe pain in my lower right abdomen and in my right back area. I call my Family Doc like a good girl thinking this must be a kidney stone or something. Family Doc has ultrasound done, no stones, no infection no clue. Baratric Surgeon orders an abdominal ct scan, it shows something on the right ovary Baratric Surgeon orders a pelvic ultrasound and wants me to see my Gynecologist (haven't been to one in more than 20 years, just use my PCP for that) Baratric Nurse called and read the ultrasound report and it shows a mass and a cyst and some calcification on the ovary. The first appt I could get (started calling Monday) to see a Gyno was this coming Tues at 11:00 Bypass surgery is supposed to be Wed. So I have been on a pre op diet for the better part of six weeks. I am very discouraged and just don't know what to think. I feel like I am so close to having the opportunity to get healthy and my body is fighting me every step of the way. I just wanted to let everyone know and ask for your prayers and any advice. Thanks for reading all of this
