Help after surgery?
Vicki Loichinger replied to lolawaiting's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really think a couple of days at your Mom's might be a good idea. And then you will feel great getting back into your own home and routine. But let Mom take care of you for a couple of days. I am sure you could manage fine on your own, but why chance it if you don't have to. Espeically with the holidays and everything. Just don't let them wait on you too much you still need to get up and walk around the house and remember to keep getting the liquids in. -

My finger tips are now hydration meters...
Vicki Loichinger replied to pwnykat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very interesting. I have not had a problem getting fluids in. And my pee is really clear so i am super happy about that. I was worried pre surgery that hydration would be a real problem and I would be one of those that had to go back to hospital and get iv fluids, but so far I really have been able to drink a lot. Here's to hoping everyone's fingers plump up -
How soon is too soon to drive after GB
Vicki Loichinger replied to Bward's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I waited about a week and a half before I drove. Only then cause I wasn't taking any pain meds and the trips were very short. I don't work outside the home. But if I did I don't think I would be quite ready to go back yet., I will be three weeks post op Wednesday this week. But gauging how I am doing if I had to go back to a job probably Next week I would feel up to it. I am already doing more and more things around the house. So I think it depends on your job. Making sure that you have a plan for eating and drinking while you are at work and getting your vitamins in. Make a schedule and stick to it so you don't become dehydrated or miss your vitamins. Get your protein in so you will have some energy. -
I have had a couple of the foamies when I have drank to big a drink of something. Used to happen a lot while I was banded. So it kinda shocked me just a bit, but then I thought back to being banded and thought it was probably the same thing. Used to call it a productive burp.
