For Spaghetti Lovers
Ms.Rockwell replied to f1stborn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love zucchini squash but have never had spaghetti squash. How do you prepare it? -
Steak seems to be the only thing I cannot tolerate. I tried to eat a tiny bite one time and I felt like it just sat there stuck. I didn't get sick but I was very uncomfortable all night. So I won't ever go there again!!!

Great! I am finding that after each "workout" no matter how sore I am the next day that if I just move past the pain it gets a little less painful each time.

Oh Sweet Onderland!!!!
Ms.Rockwell replied to niquey0685's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations! That has to be a great feeling! I still have quite a ways to go but am looking forward to what the future holds! I was 320 pre-surgery and am now 290. At this point I can't imagine what under 200 looks and feels like!! Once again, great job and you are really an inspiration to people like me! -
Great job!!! Hooray for mini goals!!!

I dont tolerate the traditional protein shakes either so from the beginning I have used the isopure no carb ready to drink bottles. They have 40gms of protein and are clear. They come in quite a few favors and aren't very sweet at all which is a big plus for me. They are a little pricey but it's totally worth it and GNC has a buy one get one sale often so I stock up on them!

1Stfill...how Much Did Your Dr Put In The 1St Fill
Ms.Rockwell replied to DeAna N's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I got 2cc for my first fill, and 2.5cc for my second and just left the doctor and got 1.25 for my third. -
Thank you too SP1587 I find that some people do get excited for me therefore ask every single time about the numbers. I will keep in mind why you said about tactful snark! Lol I am committed to this lifelong journey and don't want to become fixated on numbers alone, it will drive me crazy!

I just joined my fitness pal and would love to be part of group! Feel free to add me! My user name is msrockwell. -
Thank you so much! So far I've had great support which I am very thankful for. I figure as long as I'm losing and not gaining and my doctor doesn't have any concerns then I'm doing ok!

I'm really glad soccerbluej mentioned the comments from coworkers. I myself am having that problem. At my job, there were quite a few nurses who opted for the bypass surgery therefore resulting in a large amount of wt dropped in a small amount of time. I am the only one in my dept who chose the lapband but now my coworkers are steady comparing my wt loss to those around me. IM OVER IT! I try to be gracious and explain that my process is a lot different and that I am losing slower but that I am indeed making my band "work" for me. I've done a great job of being at peace with the slow wt loss but it makes me a lot more anxious when surrounded by everyone's constant commenting. So basically, how do I politely tell my coworkers "butt out, I got this!!"

I love veggie patties or lettuce wraps for lunch. They are simple, don't weigh me down and i can pack it up quick before heading out the door. I also like to keep almonds on hand for a good high protein snack.

Congrats on battling the emo monster and winning!!!! I still have moments where I struggle with dealing with stress and strive to take every chance to make a better choice. I'm also always open to hearing how other people do this.

I agree with skyvic, I've used the isopure ready to drink bottles since day 1. They have variety of favors. I use them to supplement during the day at work or after a good workout.

I feel very fortunate that 5 months out I haven't had any complications or trouble with anything getting stuck yet (knocking on wood! ) but with the being said I haven't pushed the limits very either. I too am mourning some of my all time favorite comfort foods such as STEAK!!! But in return I am gaining so much and for that I am truly thankful!

I had 2 small pieces of chicken margarita pizza on gluten free thin crust.

Staples..glue..or Stitches?
Ms.Rockwell replied to Sarah75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 5 incisions with the largest one being just below my sternum and I was stapled. I did well with them and my scars are healing nicely! -
I use the bariatric fusion brand chewable that I get from my surgeons office. The berry flavor is tolerable. I'm supposed to take 2 a day so I do one morning and evening.
-
I'm headed into work overnight so I have packed Boca veggie patty Piece of string cheese Cherry tomatoes Isopure Protein drink!

I too have trouble getting all of my water that I need. I work in a very busy e.d./trauma center and find it difficult to get away to drink. I like the water bottle idea, it might help me stay mindful during the day!
