I used Dr Orris at WLIAZ and was a self pay pt. For the surgery alone, it was approx $10,000. I bought some insurance for any complications up to 6mo. I also had to pay for my endoscopy. All totaled it was approx $14,000. Then I pay as I go for fills. I would totally recommend WLIAZ. My friend used Dr. DeBarros and loves him. I have had a wonderful experience with Dr Orris . My surgerywent well with no complications. I am down 64 lbs since my surgery on 9/20. (includes preop diet etc) The staff is great, very friendly and I never have to wait long at my appointments. They answer all my questions and have a facebook group that offers lots of support. Good luck in your decision!

One Month Down, Forever To Go
KatNap replied to ajax36's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am having the same issue. I was banded on 9/20 and so far so go for me too, except for the hunger. So far preop and post op I am down 41lbs. I try to stay positive and work on "the head hunger". The weight loss is slow now but I am trying to stay patient, and stick with the protein and small portions. Luckily I get a fill on 10/31. Good luck with your journey and know you are not alone. We can do this!!! -
Back To Work And Stomach Seems To Be Taking Some Stress :(
KatNap replied to itsjude's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was on 9/20 and i went back to work one week later. It was also my first day on soft/pureed food as well. I had a 4 oz yogurt for breakfast, about 2 hours later I felt bloated and in pain. It felt like it was the day after surgery. Don't know if I ate too much, too fast or the extra activity was the problem. The next day i had my protein shakes at work and decided to just try and eat at home. I wish i could have taken more time off too but it was not an option. I haven't had any issues with the pureed/soft foods since. -
I had surgery on the 20th and also have gained 2 lbs, on just the clear liquids. I am not too upset as I was warned these next weeks are all about healing and not losing weight. Keep up the good work!

Hi all, I was so glad to find a group for September Bandsters. I am scheduled for September 20th and am so excited and nervous. For those of you who have already had the surgery, how did you feel about a week after the surgery? I plan on going back to work at one week. I have a desk job and some flexibility about getting up and walking around. Do you think one week is a resonable expectation? Thanks and hope to read about all of our successes in the future!

It was so nice to read your post. Congratulations on your weight loss and getting throught the surgery. You are a week ahead of me. I am scheduled for the lap band on 9/20/2012 and can not be more excited (and a little anxious) I have 5 days left of this pre op diet. I have lost a total of 22 lbs since my first visit to the surgeon, two months ago. 14 lbs and now 8lbs on the pre op diet. Pretty proud of myself already and can not wait for the 20th to get here. Keep me posted on your journey, it might be nice to read about someone who is one step ahead. Good Luck and keep up the good work!
