I was banded 09/14/12 and am 29 years old. The only people I have met in the support groups that have had lap band are over 70 years old and are having completely different issues than me. I would love to chat with someone young that is going through or has gone through what I have gone through. I think the reason why I don't know of anyone in my age group that has had Lap band is because we keep it a secret for the most part and the seniors love to share. I'm sorry your are having trouble. Are you ok now from the accident? Congrats on the 60 pounds. It must be hard watching your sister eat crap all day when we can only eat a few bites at a time. I'm losing super slow and if I'm not perfect with my diet I just maintain or gain. It's frustrating. You would think that if I eat less than 1000 cal per day, I'd have to lose weight, right? My body just clings to the weight like nobody's business. I've lost about 20 pounds since the preop diet but I need to lose about 60-70 more. Talk to you soon. Feel free to private message me. Hi everyone. I'm super frustrated and needed to vent. I was banded 9/14/12, got my 1st fill in oct and my second last week. I've lost about 20 lbs so far. That is all fine. Last week the feel was too tight. I couldn't keep down anything more than a protein protein shake, everything else would come back up and I felt like crap until I had it adjusted a few days later. So now, I'm relieved that it feels better but now I'm snacking a bit too much. However I take a bite if a meatball and I feel stuck. I just never know what I'm going to feel like from day to do and it sucks. I know it will get easier but I'm just frustrated. Anyone have some words of wisdom? Thank you.

No, I think you misunderstood me. I was banded 9/14/12 and just had my 2nd fill last week. It ended up being much too tight and I couldn't keep anything down. Went for a 2nd adjustment and now it's perfect. Yay! So I'm down 22 pounds since pre-op.

It sure is! How are you feeling? I still felt like crap 10 days in but I had some complications. All is well now and I've lost about 18 pounds since pre-op diet until now. I wish it would come off a little faster but at least I know it's coming off. I'm getting my 2nd fill on Monday and I'm excited to start losing a little faster. Yay!

I'm glad you're doing we'll and that you feel young, but I disagree, age is not only a number. I made this post bc I wanted to speak to people in my age group, not a parental figure. People closer to my age like to share and listen rather than just tell people what they should think, feel, and do. I don't think you're old in any way, but the way I relate to people is MUCH different than you.

I had exactly the same problem and it was miserable. After about 3 weeks I could sleep a few hours on my stomach and every night a little more. At about 4-5 weeks post op I was able to sleep for a full 8 hours and felt so much better. You're going to be OK! Good luck! JFu

Oh yeah! I was banded on 09/14/12 and I didn't sleep a full night until about 6 weeks in. I think this is mostly because I am normally a stomach sleeper and it was uncomfortable to do so. Also, you're probably eating much less calories and its hard to sleep when your body is hungry. Not to worry, it will pass and you'll be sleeping like a baby in no time! Good luck! JFu
