    So Excited!

    Great JOB!! GO GIRL
  2. I'm not banded yet, but I am confident It will happen. I was interested in the gastric surgery years ago but never followed through. I attempted to lose weight on my own. My knees are severely bad (doctor said I have the knees of a 80yr old at 36), I have High pressure, and sleep apnea. Also I know this is for me because I have two teens that need me to stay alive. I am a walking time bomb, I know the lap band is for me because of the process is reversible. Finally, the process is a gradually weight loss rather than extreme or instant. Hope that answered the overall question.....sorry about the rambling

  5. Yesterday I told my mom and sister that I may be getting the lapband. My Mom was scared the minute I told I think because she's a RN she thinks any foreign object in your body is wrong. But I assured her that I would be fine. (Hopefully) My sister on the other end was very supportive, but told me a story of someone see works with who had the lapband and only lost 20 lbs My question is.... Do you feel the "Okay STOP eating" feeling?? Is it more prevalent with the Band? Rather than eating and feeling full after your second helping? How can one go through alllll the tests and appointments and everything and not lose weight? Could it be related to her fills?? Sorry!! I feel like I ask questions every day I use my phone for the forum so its hard to go through the archive to see if its been asked for Thanks in advance!!!
  6. I learned a great deal about weight loss surgery. Still very much interested in the lap band, Now I have to wait for a consultation call, the Dr said we should get the medical necessity letter from the pcp while we wait. I found out my BMI is actually 53, so scary!! I just want to process to move quickly
  7. I go through almost every post, but some posts look shady and unreliable. Just wanted to know, I know every open site does. But some post on here are random, I alway look at how many posts someone has and the topic they choose to talk about. Just an obvservation

  14. My insurance (Anthem BCBS) through my job covers Lap Band surgery only!! I called them directly to see what I was covered for because the dr office hasn't returned my call yet. I know I'm far from being approved but I just wanted to know the requirements and if it was covered One of which... was to have a BMI over 40 and I'm currently at a 53 with no co-mo's (possible sleep apnea-test next week) Now I'm waiting for the dr office to schedule my consultation I was worried about my coverage I feel much better now

Fear Of Losing Weight And Denial

I agree. I hide behind sooo much because of my weight, I'm so introverted now, I was never this way before. I understand where you're coming from.
  16. I'm Lyn 37 female 320-325lbs 5'6 BMI is 41. I have pre high blood pressure, possible sleep apnea, and severely bad knees. I'm been obese a majority of my life. I'm tired of being tired. I want energy, I want to be able to walk without being tired and having my knees hurt. So after several months and months of trying it do it the non surgical way. I have decided to attend a seminar this Wednesday. I'm excited but nervous too. I really want to feel better. Also nervous about my insurance approval (Athem bcbs) I've been reading the forum and have gotten excited and scared at the same time. I will be checking in after my seminar on Wednesday .... I'm ready to start this journey
