I'm getting my first fill on 7 Nov. It seems like forever away

I lost 17 on the pre-op and have lost 10 since my surgery. Overall i'm pretty pleased with that, but i'd totally be okay with half that and some mushies

I too seem to be burping alot, but its not a normal burp. It feels like it should when its still in my belly but it can't seem to actually get through the band.?. I'm not sure how else to describe it. Its like it gets stuck in the stoma and can't actually make it out, its pretty uncomfortable but a few deep breaths seems to clear it out and all is better. I've only had a handful of acutal burps, and frankly they were heavenly. I'm hoping its just because everything is still a little swollen.

I was also banded on the 24th. Physically i'm healing fine and not very sore anymore but man o' man and i'm craving food with some substance. I'm so sick of the liquids. My appt isn't until th 5th so I have five more days. I know that in the scheme of things thats nothing. But I've spent half the day crying. I'm not hungry, so I KNOW its all in my head. I have no advice because i'm talking myself out of the kitchen every 20 mins it seems. I just wanted you to know that you weren't alone.

Just got my surgery date today!! Whoo Hoo. Sept 24th. :clap2: I can't hardly wait. I start my liquid diet on the 14th. :hungry:

Has anyone tried to do both of the requirements concurrently? I really want to give the 3 month a shot but am so worried that it will be denied like the others at my clinic. I asked them yesterday if I could do them both at the same time. They said they'd get back to me today.

I went through this process with Tricare last year. Got the referral and the appt with the surgeon. But when the surgeon put in for the pre-authorization Tricare denied it, saying it wasn't covered. I still don't understand why the even sent me to him. I hope things work out much better for you! :clap2:

The 3 month program and the 6 month program are not the same, they have different requirements, so if you choose one and don't get approved you have to start over. They just called and I can only do one or the other. I chose the 3 month plan, so keeping my fingers crossed that it works.

What exactly is Champva? I'm a disabled veteren, with service connected, should i be trying to go through them for this?

I was so excited to see this that I called Tricare South to verify and get that ball rolling again, so i could bypass aetna and they told me that they are NOT covering it, that there has been no changes. :frusty: I just do not understand how they can cover the darn bypass and still say no to the band, its sooooo much safer and less expensive. Please please please keep us updated on how this works out for you. I'm hoping that maybe we are in a different region and mine just hasn't caught up yet. :help:

I called aetna to see if they could explain their criteria and they can't, they told me that they could show me where the criteria was (link above) but that no one at aetna is allowed to explain it. Its absurd. Has anyone been approved after the 3month supervision?
