  1. I'm obviously sore, but all in all doing well. I have a nasty taste in my mouth and my neck is sore (I had to be intabated for surgery, not sure why). I would imagine the soreness is from that? I also got a little lightheaded in the shower this morning. I sniffed a towel with rubbing alcohol on it and felt better. I have to say, the heating pad is my bff!! It provides such comfort and relief! Gas pains are at minimum and I walk every hour.
  2. I had my lapband put in this morning and so far so good! I'm VERY tired from the anasthesia but otherwise ok. Have any post labpanders experienced pressure/discomfort in the chest? Seems close to my sternum.

    Banded Today!!!

No hernia repair that I'm aware of. I've been trying to move around as much as possible and have my hubby running out for a heating pad. Thanks all! I love this site and all of the advice from everyone!
  4. I am new to this forum and posting on threads. So forgive me if I ramble too much. I am having my Lap-Band surgery next Saturday, 9/8. I have to admit, I'm a wreck ( I'm not a very good patient). I started this journey to having surgery in October 2010. After doing a lot of research and thinking, I opted to try to lose my 150lbs on my own.....One.More.Time... I got myself started with a nutritionist and a personal trainer. Worked my butt off 6 days/week 2 hours/day. I was able to lose 40lbs and then just hit a roadblock. That roadblock turned into me, once again....feeling so defeated by my biggest nemisis, my body!! March of this year, I decided to restart my journey to surgery. I'm the heaviest I've EVER been (over 300lbs) and am so tired. It's time for a permanent change!! My process started in April of 2012 and I just got the call yesterday, my surgery was APPROVED by my insurance company!! *happy dance* I just had my follow-up consult with my Doctor yesterday, signed my life away on paperwork and then was informed I would have to inject myself with blood thinner...YEA BY NEEDLE for 30 days post-op to prevent clots!! I'm a little apprehensive about that, but if its what I have to do, then so be it. Has anyone had similar situation? Anyway, I'm happy to have found this forum and am looking forward to sharing and comparing our stories!!
  5. I'm having my surgery on September 8th!! I'm excited, nervous and a bit anxious to get it over with. But am looking forward to the new me!
  6. I'm FINALLY on the home stretch of a long road! (Well, I still have a long way to go) Next week, 9/8, I will have my Lapband Surgery, my life will officially begin again! My doctor recommended a low carb pre op diet this week and then nothing but liquids (clear) the entire day before my surgery. Any suggestions are much appreciated! Also, anyone out there who's had the surgery yet?? How do you feel? Thanks!
