I Use the word "acquaintance"!! People I just Know!! But I call God my Father and Jesus My Best Friend Because!!

    First, breath
I'm going to try to ease your fears one by one:
Vomiting- If you're vomiting, something is seriously wrong. You should never ever vomit with the band. I've never vomited and if I did, I'd be in seeing my surgeon immediately.
Eating with others- there is no reason you can't eat with others. I can still eat whatever I want, I just choose to eat healthy and much smaller portions. I cook and eat family dinners almost every night, I eat out a lot, and I even take road trips with my family. I never feel deprived or left out.
Losing weight- Aside from a medical problem, if you're burning more calories than you consume you will lose weight. Simple as that. If someone is complaining they never lost weight after being banded then they've done something seriously wrong. Unfortunately that does happen, too. The band is a tool, not a magic fix for fat.
I've lost over 180 pounds since my surgery last January. I'm living proof that if you follow the rules and do the work, you can and will lose weight successfully with the band.
    Best wishes.

Try to stop over thinking everything. This is a huge change for you, your life will never be the same. Don't allow the scale to dictate how u feel. U can and will lose the weight!! If u have tried to lose in the past and failed those same feelings of frustration will cause u to doubt. Do what Ur Dr says, it will work!!!

You are not going to like what I have to say, but here it goes..... Are you out of your mind!!!!! The band is a TOOL! Forgetting all the post op restrictions, that are there to allow your stomach to heal), you still have to eat healthy food! chicken fingers?! French fries?! Cheesballs?! Seriously, if you aren't going to change your eating habits then I don't know what to say. Didn't they teach you all this prior to your surgery? If not, then your doctor was very remiss. I'm sorry if all this sounds harsh but you have to figure this out if you want this to work.

Does anyone have days when you have a hard time eating. 1 day I'm fine, I can eat normally the next day everything comes up. I chew everything the way I should eat very slowly.

My surgeon said not to stress out about it too much and my exercise specialist said to just keep doing some hand weights while watching tv and walking. I dissagree that being fat is better than some sag. I speak for myself but if you are fat you take up so much space, face is huge, look crappy in pics or dressed up for weddings etc......if you are saggy tuck that **** into a Spanx and work it girl!
    Good luck =)

U will feel better and have more energy if u workout. Sometimes I have to make myself go, but it is well worth it. U may even surprise yourself and enjoy it. Go for a walk, get a trial membership at a gym and try some classes, bring a friend. U can do this!!!

I feel we have a defect at the top of our stomach and the band fixes that and our brain now get the message that we are eating and we are satisfied now. The problrm I have always had is I am always hungry and I hear food calling me from the kitchen that doesn't happen now so I can control my eating with the help of the band...like everyone says it is the greatest thing zI every did for myself. Don't let people tell you,you should be able to do this on your own its not there health its yours.

I thought I could do it alone, but I hit 247 at my highest and that was enough. My biggest problems were getting hungry between meals and eating to large of portion sizes at meals.
The band helps me with both of these- it helps me stay satisfied longer (3.5-4 hours) on less food. My weight loss is slow but steady.
It all depends on what you want to do. Going to a seminar isn't a commitment to have surgery. If you are interested go, listen, ask questions- if you decide it's for you great if not at least you have the facts.

    Hey ya'll!
I'm so giddy this morning! I woke up, noticed my bloated belly had finally deflated from surgery, ran to the scale and weighed in at 234.5 - down 22.5 since Dec 17 pre-op diet.
I was so ecstatic I tried on a pair of pants I ordered online a long time ago that we're way too small. So my first official NSV is I'm wearing them (and not afraid I'm gonna bust a seam)!
Hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday as well!
    Best,
    Chad.

DebbieC1970 reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in mourning the loss of food
You were just banded a couple weeks ago, so I am guessing you have little or nothing in your band.
Once you have adequate Fluid in your band you will feel satisfied again. The great part is, you'll be satisfied on much less food for longer periods of time.
Now as far as eating out of boredom, or what we call "head hunger", unfortunately the band can't fix that. The band can and will help control your physical hunger but the head hunger is always ours to battle. It does get easier as time goes on.
    Best wishes.
