In Need Of Buddy, Live In The Florida

Congrats to you on being banded! I'm a month in and I can tell you it gets so much better. I live in Titusville and had Dr. Fusco as my surgeon. Did Dr. Fusco do your surgery? I've lost 28lbs since my surgery (Aug 27th), its still so unbelievable! Let me know if there's anything I can help you with...not that I'm an expert but I have learned a lot! -

Just Was Banded

Hey Danielle and August banders...we're a month post op, how are you all feeling? Have you guys had a fill yet? Weight loss? What and how are you eating? I had my first fill this past Thursday, haven't really noticed too much of a difference. My doctor is a fill nazi...he refuses to tell me how much he's put in my band, I had to beg him to find out what size band I have. He said he doesn't want me to get hung up on the amount of fluid in the band as to not get "band envy"( ie this person has 6cc and has lost x amt of weight or this person has 10cc and has lost that amt of weight etc). I've lost 25lbs thus far...I weigh in again tomorrow. I pretty much eat what the family eats minus any bread or buns. I didn't want to have to cook 2 meals. I've been out to eat and have done real good. Even celebrated my 40th bday last weekend with the girls and had a couple drinks ( I know bad girl) and really enjoyed myself without it being surrounded around food. So glad I started this journey, hope this finds you all well and your journey has been as great as mine has been so far! -
Checking in this Satutday at 342lbs.... So down another 2.4lbs! Had some challenges this week...I turned the BIG 40 on Thursday and had the smallest ever piece of cake but felt super guilty. And a co-worker brought me Starbucks! But yesterday I threw the rest of a quarter sheet birthday cake in the trash and put Starbucks behind me. I've got to stop with the guilt thing, it sabotages me every time!

Second Guessing My Decision....normal?
katpowell92 replied to Harrier's Woman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey all! I felt the same as so many of you...showed up for surgery and thought, "ok if I'm bailing on this I need to do it now". BUT I went through with it after talking myself off the ledge and now 2 weeks post op I am THRILLED that I didn't bail! I'm almost 20 lbs down, already getting comments from co-workers and family, feeling better than I have in years and can actually say I'm proud of myself. I know it's scary now but trust me when I say the pain is temporary but the results will be forever. God bless!!! -
Happy Saturday everyone! Checking in today at 348.6...down 6.4!!!! I'm even amazed! looking forward to mushies this week and my Zumba Fitness CD's. Have an amazing week y'all!

Just Was Banded
katpowell92 replied to danielle1992's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks ladies! I will try the "butt in the air" trick too, lol! I just made some hot lemon water with a teaspoon of sugar and that has released some of the discomfort, the nurse from my doctors office said I could be having spasms and the hot liquids would help. Please share your ups and downs especially with us being banded the same day, any help from what gives you comfort would be greatly appreciated. And YES I'd love to fast forward a month too!!!! -

I've been walking too and just got gas x strips. I also am having a hard time drinking the 64oz of clear liquids that's required per day. Did your doc request you to drink so much? -

I was banded on Monday August 27th too! I'm super excited to get this journey started but at the moment I am battling a lot of trapped gas. Are you having any of this gas pain? What's working for you of so? Thanks!!!
