I am considering going to Dr. Alveraz in Mexico. Has anyone gone to him? How was it? Thanks.

Also, when I stopped drinking gatorade and anything acidic it got better as well I try to do water and ice only. Anyway, hope that helps.

I'm am 6 days out. I'm the same way, no appetite and I find things taste bad but i think it is because I don't feel like having anything. I'm gurgling too. It got better when I started takings a stronger antacid. It is worse when you can't go to the bathroom. I fixed that and I feel better. The tightness when I drink is such a weird feeling. It's uncomfortable mostly. I hope it gets better too.

If it causes cramping you can steep it for a less amount of time like 3 minutes instead of five or take a water pitcher and steep it in a larger amount of water and stick it in the fridge so you drink a little at a time. You can drink it cold.

Protein can make you constipated..get this product it is the best, I even used it before surgery. Organic smooth move tea. Use before bed and make sure you are home the next day cause it works every time. if you take it before bed you might be waking up to "go" I find the more backed up you are it gets a little painful cause it really moves that stuff in your intestine but the discomfort only lasts until you get to the bathroom..good luck! You can get it at Whole Foods and I also have gotten at Walgreens. :-)

I am less than 24 hours post op right now i am in my hospital bed and yes when i woke up it was very uncomfortable. But once I a got a good dose of pain Meds I feel fine. Just a little pressure and abdominal spasms here and there. The worst parts so far was the hotel and some of the guest's were really loud and trying to go to sleep here in the hospital is a joke cause the nurses are loud as hell too but I really hope it just stays at this level for me. Still in hospital and all drugged up and its not too bad ..just had surgery a few hours ago. I'm sleepy now. I will post later for updated.

I'm in Eagle Pass, Texas! Surgery tomorrow and I can't believe it. But i'm ready to get it done and go home. My sleeve buddy is interesting and we have a lot to chat about which really helps with nerves. Well, wish me luck!

I tell people and some people dont really care and are supportive but others are always saying "why? your not that big" ..anyway who cares it doesn't even phase me what people think or say because Im doing it! They don't know how you feel in your own body..im paid in full and surgery is in two days! And i'm going to be lookin good. Good luck and trust yourself you know what's best for you.

Surgery this Saturday! I can't believe it is here already..super emotional about it but I think its cause i'm hungry from preop full liquid diet. Only have to do it for ten days and this is day seven. It actually was easier today then the first few days. Good luck to everyone! I will check in when I get back. :-)

I am having my surgery with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico...i'm leaving on the 16th! Can't believe its already here. How about you?

Day five of full liquid and for me it is getting harder each day..and yes every damn commercial is for food. I am proud that I have not cheated at all, but I am hungry! I only have to do ten days and my surgery is on the 17th so its almost over. Good luck to everyone!

Im on my second day of liquid diet and I'm excited too..not as hard as I thought it was going to be...but yes on Tuesday I mentioned that I'm having surgery and this guy I didn't really know said that it was "the easy way out" and I just laughed and told him that we don't have to talk about it anymore and that was that...the comment about not being that big...I got that from my very own PCP and a coworker but you know everyone has an opinion and it doesn't bother me one bit cause the only opinion that matters is yours..life is short who gives a **** what people think. :-) you go friend! Be confident and believe in your decision and move on.

So hello all. Surgery in Mexico in two Weeks. I did tell my coworkers about it and they were supportive but they are expressing their concernes about traveling alone to Mexico. I keep saying I will be fine and don't worry but now its freaking me out..also one coworker says that I could totally do it on my own and I don't weigh that much..blah blah and it made me feel like a quiter and this is really the first time i'm wondering if this is the right thing to do...I lost weight doing insanity for a few months and then quit because I have hip problems but coworkers noticed I lost weight so that's why she said I can do it. God! I'm Confused. I am about 90 to 95 lbs overweight but I am 5'2 so BMI of 42ish and I have been big my whole life. Having surgery Nov. 17th with Dr Alvarez Thanks for any feedback. :-)

I have just been having anxiety about everything lately but I know its going to happen and everything is going to be ok. I have a great support system..mostly encouraging friends and eph those people who think my decision is scary or crazy...I need to be confident and stick with this and believe in my choices cause that's who I am, i'm strong and i'm going to stop second guessing..i'm in charge now. I hope you all do the same..you only live once and we all should have the option to live it healthy and hott!

Thanks everyone...I go up and down and up and down with my weight and yes if I could keep it off I would have already. The only reason I told my coworkers is because they are going to notice my weight loss plus i'm taking two Weeks off so its kind of obvious and we are pretty close we work in a small space all day long. Im not embarrassed or secretive about it but now its getting closer and I think i'm just getting nervous. I know I have to do it for a healthy future but it does suck that people don't understand. I guess I just need to be confident and believe that i'm doing the right and I will be safe in Mexico..thanks all :-)

So..I am flying to Mexico to get my surgery on November 17th with Dr. Alvarez. what is best? Checking a bag or just taking a small carry on? I have a plane change there and back. They sent me a list of what to bring..what are the items that helped the most?

Just got all the info from the Dr. lots to read and a lot of instructions. I got approved for two Weeks paid time off plus FMLA from my job and everything is coming together. Just waiting for my passport and plane ticket to come in the mail and saving some more money to pay for the rest of my surgery...crazy! 40 more days..ready!
