Good luck! -
I burp, deep burps that sneak up on me and are involuntary. I never know when they will happen, really embarrassing. Not too much farting, a lot less than pre band. Bad breath is s problem though, don't know why.

Great post! What are "slider" foods?

Day 11post op & I felt hunger for the first time today. I went too long without eating or having a protein shake. I ate 1/4 cup of split pea soup and was full.... full to bursting and I felt very uncomfortable. My mind wanted a big bowl of soup but my body said no. It's a very conflicting feeling.

What kind of mushies are you enjoying? I've been adding home made fruit purees to Greek yogurt which tastes great. I made a big batch of split pea soup which I will have for lunch. I find I'm not hungry in the evenings at all, so from lunchtime onwards I sip water or tea. My mental hunger is driving me nuts, I want to eat every thing but feel full! So far I have lost about 12lbs.

1st day post op for mushie foods/ purees. I had 1/4 of a fruit smoothie and felt full, for lunch I mashed up a hard boiled egg with a tsp of light mayo and its now dinner time & I'm still full! I am mentally hungry, I want so many different foods &tastes but I cannot even eat a tsp more. I'm drinking lots of water though. How are you all dealing with the mental hunger? I miss my snacks & desserts!

Last Saturday. I feel great! When are you having surgery? -
I had my 7 day post op check up on Friday, all is well, the doctor showed me where my port was and I felt it for the first time! It's like a little button right next to my belly button, so cool to feel! Also got to see my xray from the esophagus swallow test, very cool to see my band, the tube & port! Real food tomorrow, (mushies &purees) omg I can't wait to eat real foods!

March 2013 Surgery Dates?
AbbieL replied to ShannaS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly..... it was day 5 post op for me to have the bloated feeling reduce and day 6 for the gas related shoulder pain. I took gas x but for me it did nothing. Now day 9 I feel great, except for tightness around my belly button incision. If I get up from the couch too quick it hurts. -

I recently had surgery at Nyu, Dr Kurian was great! I live in Staten island, I would be up for meet ups! -
Good luck Rina!

Good luck ! You must feel like you've done your pre op diet forever !

You get stretch marks when your skin shrinks also, so if you have fast weight loss you can create new ones. Vitamin e oil can really hydrate your skin and penetrate deep, it will lessen the lightlyhood of getting them. I used it religiously when I was pregnant and didn't get one stretch mark.

Use vitiman e oil, every night. It's cheap and you can get it at any drug store.

Wow! I'm mentally starving but feel no real hunger pangs. I'm one week post op and force down 2 x protein shakes, 1 small bowl of tomato soup and water, juice, hot teas. Wish I could crunch on something!
-
I went in for my post op check up, I have a list of mushies that I can have, includes flaky fish-tilapia & flounder, tofu, refried beans, ricotta cheese, farina cream of wheat plus everything on my original list. I'm going to use a lot of spices hot sauce, garlic etc to get a lot of taste in! I can't wait until Monday!

A little info from the veterans plz....
AbbieL replied to Tashaplus3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This thread is exactly what I needed to read right now, I'm 5 days post op and sick of artificial flavours of protein shakes etc... not that I'm hungry but I'm craving real food tastes. I failed at every diet because I deprived myself of real foods, so I'm really hoping I can have a taste of birthday cake or a cookie now &then. -
Are grits ok? I guess oatmeal, my favorite is out then Any more suggestions? I'm missing cooking so much this week and want to start cooking &preparing, freezing portions.
