shelly513 replied to shelly513's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks everyone.. Yes yes yes.. I had a TON of hairloss. I was lucky I had very thick hair. I lost alot between months 3-10... by the handful. I always got in all my Protein.. Vitamins.. Water.. Biotin. It's either gonna fall out or it isnt. Since I had such drastic weightloss I wasn't that fortunate.. BUT no one could tell but me I haven't had plastics... I have a saggy belly. Very saggy but with the right pose and pants no one can tell much -

My Mom Is Not Supporting My Decision
shelly513 replied to JhonnieB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im going to say the same to you ad I told another person. Not everyone is going to support you. That's just all there is to it and I think a lot of it has.to do with they don't understand. A lot of times people think are fat by choice.. and yes maybe it started that way but it almost becomes and illness and an obsession To the normal person they dont get it. Its not like we are crackheads searching for crack.... our food is our drug and its something that we will die without. Its a necessity of life. So with all that maybe you need to explain to her that this is something you need and want and that reguardless your going to do it with or without her support. -

Introduction - Question About Lp - Wife Note Thrilled
shelly513 replied to stevew's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
when i first told my significant other about getting surgery.. the first argument i got into with him he said that I was not woman enough to loose the weight one my own. I have come to the realization that "normal" people just dont get it. They dont understand the daily battles we go through. We need food to survive so its not like a crack head trying to find crack... its in our face everyday all day everywhere. I am doin this for me NOBODY else i dont i dont need ANYONES permission to take charg of my body. Think of it like that... -

What Healthy Foods To Eat?
shelly513 replied to kittylove32's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dietician told me.great snacks are.... fat free or low fat cottage cheese... peanut butter on apple or celery (in moderation) low fat string cheese... wheat thins or those kellogs crisps. A cup of healthy cereal. Also I dunno if you like V-8 juice but if your hungry and.craving salt that works really good and it coats your stomach. If I'm craving sweets I eat sugar free popcicles. Hmmm I was just thinking also maybe ill free some sugar free jello mmmmm. -
I'm having a moment where I'm asking myself how did I ever let myself go like this. Why would I? I don't have any psychological reason of why I'm fat. I just love food. Its so yummy. If doritos tasted like lettuce... I wouldn't eat them. Do u ever feel like that

Nervous About Getting Started
shelly513 replied to ch3shir3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly google lap-band and there is ALOT of useful information on WIKI about it. I would be nervouse but for a good cause bc you are goin to change your life. Im nervouse and I still have about 3 months left before i go to surg. Its a lifestyle change and you HAVE to be commited to it. Im still have problems eating right and Im not depending on a miracle surgery to make me change. Dont be scared that yollu die.. as long as you trust your doctor youll be ok. Wiki said the death toll was 1 in 2000 but then if you read the very bottom of the pages theres something about a website reffering paients to doctors that ended in death. So that right there may have made the national average go up. -

I was just wondering what type of insurance did everyone use... if any... and what type of hoopla did you have to go through to have the surgery covered?
-
