  1. Thanks guys! I will def be going over all my paperwork in the morning!
  2. I am not really sure about the soft food stage of my band. I understand that you must eat soft food (sugar free jello, sugar free pudding, oatmeal, apple sauce, ect.) But, how much do you eat? The whole cup of jello? A whole serving of oatmeal? I am post op and STARVING! (I assume this too, is normal?!)
  3. Thanks for all the helpful tips! This site (and the people on here!) have been such a great help!
  4. I was told no protein shakes till week 2. I might call and see if I can start them sooner (seems like they would be good for you.) Any suggestions on what type/brand I should try?
  5. Today is day 3 post op. I feel 100% better today. I have been walking, using the heating pad and drinking my clear liquids. This morning I am starting to feel hungry. I am thinking this is normal? I am on clear liquids for the first week. Any suggestions on what I should do? Jello? Italian ice? Also, what should I do about my protein shakes (I assume I start that next week). I have the Whey, but did not really like the taste before. Anything else I should try? Thank everyone!
  6. My doctor said two weeks before I could lift my son. Nothing over 20 pounds. I think that is mostly due to my hernia repair. Hard, but worth it in the end.

    Banded Today!!!

I am going on day 2. I have been told (and it does really help!) to walk. For every hour I am walking 10 min.
  8. Day 2... Starting to feel much better! I am really glad I spent that first night at the hospital! I was in a lot of pain. I think most of that was due to having the hernia repair. Since being home the heating pad has been a great help. Also walking has been helping also. I know I will feel even better tomorrow. Hope everyone out there is feeling/doing good!

    I Can't Believe It !

I go in at 7am! Aghhh! Good luck!!
  10. I had my final weigh in today. I had lost weight during my pre op diet. I decided to be truthful and let my Doc know about my "cheat day." I was assured that I will be fine. He told me he has only not been able to perform one band surgery. Her liver was too big due to medical problems. He also let me know that when he first started doing this that he did not even require a pre op diet. He found that the liver be smaller made thing easier, but was not necessarily needed. That made me feel much better. I was so afraid my liver would be too big! So anyways, all is good and I go in for surgery tomorrow morning!!
  11. Mine is tomorrow also! Good luck everyone! :D :D
  12. Thanks for the feedback and support. I have had my "pity party" and am getting back on track today. I try to learn from my mistakes, make the necessary changes and move forward.
  13. Thanks. I was thinking of just doing protein shakes (with water) for the next 3 days... I am a carb addict, so this is the worst diet ever. I always seem to self sabotage also! Loose 20, gain 25 back...Agh!
  14. I am going in Sept 6 to get my band. I was told to only eat meat and cheese(eggs also, but I cannot eat them!) for two weeks pre op. I have not done good at all! Yesterday was the worst. Today I feel horrible! I am wondering if I should go to liquids from here on out to try to reverse the damage?! I am really stressing and really upset with myself. Any advice would be great!
