    How much?

I do have days when everything comes up and I hate it. It makes me regret the procedure so much. Not only can I not eat without the fear of throwing it up, but now I have waitresses and the people I eat with comment as to how slow I eat. I just hope that it gets better because I do not see myself living like this for the rest of my life. I was overfilled 2 months ago and it dilated my esophagus. I will wait and see if it gets better and if not I will have to get this last fill removed. Good luck to you and thanks for taking the time to reply!!!
  3. I have a 4mL band and have always had the problem of throwing up the mucous food about 3-4 times (if not more) a week. My doctor tells me that my pattern does not fit any other pattern that they have heard of. I can eat a bag of cookies like no other, but if I would try to eat half a banana, then I am doomed. It's weird that the crap food can go down, but the healthy stuff can't. I am however trying to find more healthy foods that go down easily. I have my band filled with 2.2mL and I didn't know exactly how much my pouch holds. Does anyone really know? Am I really supposed to stop eating after 3 bites of something?:help: Thanks!!!
  4. Why are we not suppose to have carbination? I got banded in December and drink a can of pop prolly 4 times a week and I feel fine with it. The only thing I can remember is that my dietician said that the gas bubbles would feel me up and that's not the case at all. I didn't know what everyone else was told? Also frustrated because I went in last month and had to have my last fill removed because I couldn't keep anything down. They took me back down to my previous fill and I have gained 2 pounds!! I have been working out more this month than any other, but I really don't think it's muscle because my pants that use to be really baggy and just kinda baggy now. It's been almost 9 months and I have only lost 25 pounds. It is so frustrating!

    Missing food

I'm not counting calories because i am not able to eat a whole lot. i do have my occasional eating a candy bar because that doesn't get stuck and i know it's wrong and that delays it some, but we're human. i try to get about 64 in, but at times it gets short and exercising yes, but i need to step it up more. i work nights and so i would so much rather sleep than work out, but i know i need to find more time for it. thanks for writing back!!
  6. So before I got banded I never felt like I loved food or anything like that. well, since the surgery i miss food like crazy. i miss eating sandwiches, i miss just stopping at a resturant and not having to worry about if the food will go down and stay down or not. I have been banded since December 8 and really have not lost much weight at all and it's frustrating like only 20 pounds if that. I don't think my band needs to be tighter either because i almost always get the sliming affect after i eat and it gets to be so much that i have to throw it up. so, if i was able to see the results from not eating the foods that i miss i think that i would be ok, but not being able to eat anything i want and not losing much weight is really getting frustrated. Any advice about how to forget about food and lose weight faster? Thanks! Rachel
  7. I also had a hiatal hernia as well. They did not know I had it until they went inside me, but they said it is very common and it is very easy to repair. There is some discomfort around the chest because they tighten the cardiac sphincter, but also because the scope generally goes in the same place. The insurance paid for it because it is a medical problem and it needed to be fixed. Good luck!!! Rachel

    Hair loss?

I experienced some hair loss about a month post-op. It wasn't a lot, but I did call my dietician and asked her about it. She said that it deals a lot with the hormones in your body and the way it is reacting to the new object in your body. She said the Biotin sometimes helps with that, but that hair should be back to normal within a few months after the surgery :-)

    Can't breathe

Thank you for your advice :-) Rachel
  10. This is my first time on here :-) I had my band put in December 8, 2006. I have my band filled with 1.5mL and my tubing filled. For some reason when I eat--doesn't usually matter what it is, it feels like it gets stuck really close to my lungs and I cannot breathe. i try to walk around, but it doesn't help. I don't know what makes it better really, it just kind of goes away. When it does this my body freaks out and i get a lot of mucous in my mouth. I didn't know if anyone else had this kind of issues and how i can try to solve that. And the kicker of it all--I have lost 10lbs since surgery. I know it's a slow process, but c'mon now! I'm afraid to get my band restricted more because this not feeling like you can breathe feeling is pretty bad. Well, thanks for the replies that I hope to get :-) Rachel:omg:
