I'm from Iowa just finished all my pre-op test for my surgery with dr glascock

Hello everyone I am Stephanie I am 26 been married going on 5 yrs sept 1st I have 4 yr old son and a 21 month old daughter who one 4/30/12 was diagnosed with leukemia. I am a CNA and in school part time now for nursing. I have been researching this procedure for the last 5 yrs and I am now done waiting to get insurance that will cover I am just going to pay out of pocket for it. I am here to talk with people I do not meet with my dr till sept 18th but I want to hear about the good the bad and the ugly. I am 5'5 and aprox 430 lbs. anyone else in here around that size would love to chat with you about your results and the whole process. Can't wait to chat with everyone. Just a shot in the dark but has any one had surgery by dr glascock of cedar falls Iowa?

What were some of the pre-op testing that you had to do? How long did it take to find out if your passed it all to get surgery and normally how long after is surgery scheduled? I am self pay

I am meeting with him sept 18 question for everyone I am self pay but what were your pre op testing? How soon after pre op testing did you know whether or not surgery was a go and how soon were you scheduled for surgery after pre op testing?

I am a CNA still in school working towards my RN and I am glad to see so many others in a similar line of work. I am currently in the beginning of the process and am meeting with the surgeon on sept 18th. I would love to join the nurse forum but couldn't find it.
