Wow, today is the day. I have the surgery at 7:30 this am. I will check in after for anyone else that has questions, but for now,
PRAYERS and POSITIVE THOUGHTS are well appreciated. My name is Diana and I will talk to you all soon.

it's all going to be great. The next step is only a moment and the band will help us for the rest of our life. Of course, we have to use it properly, but there are so many success's in front of us. Not going to lie... I took someone advice and tapped the toilet! I have surgery in 2 days and there in no way that I want to sit on that toilet and get my bum pinched!

Valentines Day for me :wub: no pre op diet needed

As if surgery can't come quick enough.... I just sat on and broke the toilet seat in our bathroom! How embarrassing and horrific. Now I have to explain to my hubby why we have to buy another one... Really?? Anyone else out there ever have anything embarrassing like this happen?

There are extracts that you can add to your protein's.
A place called BJ's bariatrics online also sells a 12.95, 11 pack ( that you choose) samples of Protein by matrix. They have several different flavors too that you can try before you buy the large Protein pack.
Also, PB2 to just about any protein shake is amazing. Use unjury chocolate and add PB2 and its like a Peanut Butter cup.
So many things to try.

Valentines Day for me :wub: no pre op diet needed

I have had a number of cracked toilet seats , can't remember who/how they got broken, some toilet seats seem to be made of very thin plastic that is prone to cracking. The worst is if you sit on it again without getting it fixed it can pinch your bum and that is painful!

I was banded 4 days ago and sleep has been annoying. The first night was very rough. I'm a stomach and side sleeper and I was only able to sleep on my back. I woke up a lot but I had pillows on each side of me to try and help. When I layed flat, the gas pains got so intense that I woke up crying. I decided to sleep sitting up in my bed so I was propped up with pillows. Eventually I was up at 4 for the rest of the day. The nights tend to be long but they are getting easier and easier. I slept on my sides for a little while last night which was exciting. You'll get through it, I promise!

I slept in bed just fine immediately after surgery.
I'm a tummy sleeper but a nurse taught me an excellent trick after my c-section 10 years ago. I couldn't lay on my side because it pulled my stomach and I was afraid to lay on my tummy. sleeping on my back was horrible. So, she told me this:
Laying on your tummy after abdominal surgery actually often makes it feel better. Your body weight acts like a binder, holding everything in. What she told me to do was very slowly crawl up the foot of the bed on all fours. Once I was positioned where I wanted to be, very slowly and gently lower yourself directly downward without going from side to side. When you want to get up, just again carefully push up onto all fours and crawl to the edge of the bed.
I was terrified but she was right and it totally worked. I've used this trick after every abdominal surgery since then (and I've had many).

OMG... I feel that anxiety now and surgery is still a week away. I have decided to write my boys letters of love just in case and have been talking it through with my hubby. Still, I know that I am making the best decision for long term and that will technically keep me around my kids longer, but Got to get banded first.

It's insanely tragic, irresponsible and sever lack of character on the writers part. Shame on them for not having enough sensitivity and depth to not know that it was superficial and disrespectful to print something like that. I hope someone follows up with that lady and burns the neighborhood papers! So sad! Fast recovery to her

I have also been told that Extracts of items also help. From Almond to vanilla, so many options to add to thigs. Plus, get a chicken from the store and after your fam eats it.. making your own homemade broth custom helps too. I too get tired of the sugar free, so extracts help.

I'm a 38HH. I am praying these things shrink! Bra shopping is a NIGHTMARE and to be honest, I'd rather have deflated balloon lookin boobs that fit in a normal bra than what I have now. Surgery is scheduled Friday so we will see! Good luck

Surgury date June 18th 2012, as of 1/11/13 I was officially at 80 pounds lost. Yesterday I took pictures because I was having trouble seeing any difference in myself lately, and taking those pictures completely made my week. I went into them thinking there wouldn't be much of a difference between my 50 pound pictures and these, but I was shocked at how wrong I was. It really put the confidence back in me and it makes me want to work even harder!

You do it girl! It takes a lot to go through all 6 appointments. I did as well, and know what it is like to wait for it to happen. Go with what you think is right! It's your journey girl! Go wherever it take you and hopefully it's to band-land. Cheers

OMG, I just noticed you are having surgery on Valentines Day, How cool is that!!! That is the best V-Day present ever to oneself!!!!

I think I am the only girl on the planet that wants "the girls" to shrink along with the rest of my body...and there only a 38DD now....I just want to be the perfect handful is what I tell my husband, he thinks I am crazy!

Yes, we know, that's why we worry about it and some of us are getting are "girls" re-inflated and lifted after weight loss!
