Boyfriend didnt agree with surgery
Destined*Lady*D replied to katiedee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, let me start by saying kudos to your mom for being there for you on your decision for your health and happiness. As for your boyfriend, I would be curious to see how he act's towards you in the near future. This process is about you. Just as you feel you made the right choice with WLS, I'm sure that you will figure out what to do with this BF. Maybe he come around and maybe not. Your commitment to how you life after WLS is totally up to you. Just remember, "We accept the love that we think we deserve." Cheers to all your future success and recovery. -
I agree with the other ladies, plus when you are sitting place your arms over your head and bend at the elbow to the other side of your body. Then take slow deep breaths in and it will help open up your diaphragm and relieve gas pains. Cheers to your recovery

Not to provide too much information, but...
Destined*Lady*D replied to karanicole26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry that you are so uncomfortable! The best remedies that I know of are diarrhetic tea and Soups that have a higher sodium content. Salt Water is not all that wonderful but will also help. I hope that some of this helps and that you feel relief some time soon. -

Hiatal hernia repair
Destined*Lady*D replied to pondqueen46's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had repair that I didn't know about until the surgery was done. My Doc informed me that she found it when she went to place the band. The major discomfort from that was the diaphragm pressure at the top of my lung bridge. The Hernia is VERY common. Some don't even know that it's an issues until after. As for the PORT pain, if you sleep on your side , prop it up with a pillow. It helps keep the weight off the sight. My pain lasted a few weeks. It really started to feel better at about 3-4 weeks. Get some scar cream and walking helps. Heating pads are worth every penny for healing if you do not have one. Best wishes to your recovery! Cheers on your new journey and to your success -

They have so many different flavors... plus no FAT or SUGAR. I mix the strawberry Kiwi with Mio Strawberry Watermelon and shake....And it's wonderful. Plus no fat, no sugar or carbs and I get 23grams of Protein. There "Sweet" and "Latte" line are both terrific too. I have tried so many different types of protein, even unjury, and this is the Protein that makes my high protein lifestyle the most enjoyable

go directly to Syntrax sight online and they can get you the sample pack. Or "like" them on FB and you can get linked to there deals

Don't Worry. I know its super frustrating so early on to see the scale go back up, however, to the point of many other bandsters, it's going to be okay long run. So many different reasons that this can happen. Remember the things that you can control in the mean time. Diet and sodium intake will help dramaticly. You can try using tools like My Fitness Pal to help track all your nutrition needs. Plus make sure you at least walk little bits everyday to keep things moving. You will go trough times that your body will freak out and hold on to things for a few days. Just remember to get in all your fluids and if the scale will change and go down. I promise! Stay STRONG. You are already doing a great job! You have had GREAT loss so far. The rest will come. Cheers to your Success so far.

Liquids getting stuck? Whate wrong?
Destined*Lady*D replied to karanicole26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just remember that in the beginning, it's supposed to take 30-40 mins to get in 4- 5 oz of Fluid. Maybe look into getting a smaller blender ball container that is 12 oz. Everything is still de-stressing from surgery. And every stage is so personal to how your body feels. Just try sips that are a little slower, or look at how many oz. you are drinking in a 20 min time frame. This might help you long run and remember to drink slower. Congrats on your newly placed band and Cheer to all the Banded Success! -

All your hard work is totally showing. Keep up your commitment and congrats on your journey. -
Amazon is the best place. Whole Food's has it but it really expensive there. Just stick to Amazon.

The Easiest way is the following.... 1 scoop of your fav protein... so mine right now is the vanilla Bean torte from Syntrax or chocolate with the PB2. 2-4 TBSP of sugar free pudding... (Butterscotch, Pistachio, pumpkin, Chocolate) Mix the two item together for form a smooth pudding Then add to popsicle molds and freeze. Depending on where your at in food allowances, some people add chocolate shavings or fruit too. You get your Protein and it's delicious.
-
I WILL SWARE by this stuff. Both PB2 regular and chocolate are amazing! Protein shakes, Spreads protein popsicles... so many ways to use it and it helps kick the Peanut Butter Cup craving. WORTH EVERY PENNY AND TOTALLY RECOMMEND

I am almost 30 days out and I have between 780-950 a day. i get between 65-85 grams of protein a day. But check with your doctor just in case. Every doctor does stages similar but different. Cheers

Ritz Crackers and laughing Cow
Destined*Lady*D replied to TEAM SASHA PINK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the laughing cow cheese, either on Trader Joe's Pita Crackers or Whole Foods Air baked crackers with sea salt. Both give yo a better serving for the calories and better sodium and nutrition. Its nice to have the crunch, I just make sure I chew REALLY well. Cheers to your snacks -

People are noticing...and I am anxious!
Destined*Lady*D replied to megamomnj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To the point of many others.... I believe that you should tell people that are going to listen to your story and support your journey. Tell the people that are going to be pillars of strength and guidance when needed in our dark and sugar tempted hours. You get the choice. But make sure that it's something that you want to do. No need to be embarrassed. You have made a great choice with either way you choose to go as long as it supports your journey. Cheers to your current and future success -

Destined*Lady*D replied to dani_nyc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is a huge accomplishment! Congrats on all your hard work to get your self out of the 20's! You rock those pants GIRL and Cheers to all your success. -
I feel your pain and can totally relate. HOWEVER, yes, it's about healing. With that being said, I understand myself how impatient I am to see results and watch the scale go down. I weigh myself daily and use My Fitness Pal to calculate all my intake and burn for calories. It's has helped a lot in keeping me motivated on the stages I need to accomplish. I too have cheated durning my Puree food choices. I started making my own egg salad, chili and Protein everything mashed potatoes to help me feel somewhat normal. The thickness and variety of the puree textures has help me survive this stage. I go next Wed for my next follow up to hopefully move out of puree's. Maybe try your nutritionist or some higher fat/calorie Protein drinks mid day so that your evening snack is not as necessary. You can DO this! I totally understand how you feel. We will get the results that we work for. Hang in there! Keep us posted. Cheers to your healing.
