I had my surgery last Friday in Mexico. Though I did have my husband with me, most other people were alone. You CAN do this! Just a bump in the road to success....

Weight Loss 1st Week Post Op
juliebisme replied to kitkatcannon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5 days out and have only lost 9 pounds total (pre-op, too). I was kinda hoping for more at this point so I know how you feel! I guess time will tell.... -
Thanks for all the responses!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in and ask a few questions. I am feeling pretty good (surprisingly better than I thought), but I am hungry. I am starting each day with a protein shake. Does anyone try non-pureed food at this point? Also, I have been walking a lot. Is it too much to walk two miles each night being so soon after surgery?

July Sleevers - Post Here!
juliebisme replied to Canary Diamond's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
July 26th with Dr. Ismael Cabrera Garcia at Mi Doctor Hospital. Stayed at the Pueblo Amigo. -
My experience was nearly the same EXCEPT Eduardo WAS NOT there when we arrived. After MANY phone calls and a 2 hour wait, we were finally picked up and taken to the hotel. Quite nerve-racking. Anyway...my surgery was Friday and I am home after a long day of traveling yesterday (Western New York). The rest of the experience was great, from the coordinator, Nissi...to the doctors and nurses (my favorite was Sam). Feel free to message me any questions you may have. Good luck to all!

So here I am on day 5 of pre-op diet. I was managing with the protein shake part of it, but this liquid only part sucks. I am hungry! This broth isn't cuttin' it, either. -

juliebisme replied to klerose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is this Friday. I was on protein only since last Friday...shakes, meal replacement bars and the occasional hard-boiled egg. I started the liquid only diet today and am STARVING. I just shoved 3 gummy candies into my mouth and am feeling soooooooooo guilty! -

I'm right there with ya'....day 3 of the pre-op diet and big time headache today! I am allowed to take Tylenol, so that helps. I'm gonna try to drink more water, too....Good luck to you! My surgery is the 26th. -

Effects of Protein Shakes
juliebisme replied to miss_cee85's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started the pre op diet yesterday. The only solid food I am allowed to eat is meal replacement bars and a few hard-boiled eggs. I like the way the Atkins tastes, but sometimes it does bother my stomach. I am drinking Giant Sports protein drinks and water. -

juliebisme replied to derickalvinderick's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am headed to Tijuana this Thursday the 25th. I have used Medical Tourism (3 of my friends recommended them). Regene is my coordinator and so far...things have been great! Really looking forward to my procedure in 6 days! I believe we are staying at the Pueblo Amigo, which looks very nice. -

Pre-Op Begins Today
juliebisme replied to Luv2bslim's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I started my pre-op diet today, too! Crystal Light, Atkins Advantage bars, hard-boiled egg and protein shakes and lots of bathroom visits. Was pretty hungry around 5:00pm. Thinking I'm OK now.. -
I am going to Tijuana to have the surgery done next week! My primary was against WLS, but I don't have to see her again until November (won't she be shocked)! All the blood work and pre op tests are being done when I get there!

Time To Stop The Chick Sh*t!!!!!
juliebisme replied to Banjo257's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi! My name is Julie. I am hoping that I am posting in the right spot for introductions. I am new to the group and I have begun my lapband journey just about 2 months ago. I have been to the informational seminar and consult appointment. I have my nutrionist and first psychological appointments on December 4th. I am 46 years old, 5'2' and weigh 200 pounds. Many health issues have crept up on me as my weight has crept up over the past 7 or so years. I take medication for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleeping issues and PMDD. I am the mom to 3 kids, ages 22, 19 and 7 (I adopted a little girl from Guatemala). I have been a special education teacher for about 20 years. And, I guess that's about it! I am glad to be here and looking forward to this new journey...I have a lot of living to do!! Julie
