Try it remember that if you want to be a success at anything it takes work and determination. I have had to track my calories and exercise daily to get where I am. And for most if us it's the same. I think a lot of us got banded thinking we would have to do those things (or at least the tracking calories) to be successful but the reality is we got to this place because we have issues with over eating or eating all the wrong things. That is something that takes a lot of awareness to change. If you don't have support from your drs office WE are here for you. Try an app like lose it or myfitnesspal, they are free and offer great support from the community. I'm use myfitnesspal my user name is goalseeker32.

Happy one year!! 68 lbs is nothing to shirk about. It's an amazing loss! That's two toddlers you are no longer carrying around! Keep on trucking and you'll get there. I wanted to be at goal by my one year but my surgeon said I'm doing great and it usually takes bandsters 2-3 years to reach goal. I'm hoping to get there by Christmas. If I don't...who cares. I'm living a better life now and am finally happy with the person in the mirror.

Reality smack in the face

I think it is wonderful to think in these terms. Sometimes we get caught up in how much we have left and start thinking that the amount we have lost is not significant. Every time I start thinking I've ONLY lost 86 pounds I remind my self that my 3 and 5 year olds weigh 74 pounds TOGETHER and that 40 pound 5-gal Water bottle I lift onto the cooler weighs 41 pounds. I feel better when I remember these things and it reminds me why I feel so much better than I did before this journey. Congrats in your amazing loss!! Keep up that hard work! -

My dr told me at my last visit that it is normal for some fluid to seep through the membrane of the band. Since it was my one year he took all the fluid out to see if there was the same amount in as we had put in. It was about 1 cc less. Now he said it isn't an exact science because the liquid could get caught in a pocket and not come out into the needle. I asked if it was something to be worried about and he said if there was an actual leak it would have NO fluid in it. It would all leak out. He put it all back plus and extra .5 cc. I am totally feeling the difference now

It's not so much solid or soft food that will make you gain. Actually solid foods will help you loose cause you won't have to eat as often. If you are really worried track your calories and stay in a certain range. For me it is 1200 + what I earn exercising. Here's a snap shot of my normal day: Breakfast: 2 cups of coffee, eggs either fried or in a "muffin" (cook them ahead of time in a muffin pan with sausage, peppers and cheese) Snack: Greek yogurt Lunch: piece of turkey lunch meat wrapped around a slice of cheese, carrots or apple, crackers Snack: nuts Dinner: chicken breast with BBQ sauce, veggies Hope this helps

I saw my dr yesterday and he said he likes to do an upper gi at the one year mark just to make sure everything looks good.

I eat cheese every day in some form. It's protein and helps fill me up when I need a quick snack.

I eat my calories back if I am hungry. I think the best advice would be to see what helps YOU lose. I can eat my exercise calories back and still lose around 2 pounds a week. I am HUNGRY if I don't. I'm going in for a fill tomorrow and I'm hoping that changes things. But everyone is different and what works for some will not work for you.

That's awesome!! Congrats!!

Well it's been a year. A very triumphant year if I may say so myself. I have lost 80 pounds and even though I have hit a plateau I have no doubt I will break through it soon. So much has changed...I went from sporadically active to exercising 6 days a week. I actually haven't missed a workout this entire year. I have NEVER been that committed to exercise...EVER!!! I don't really eat carbs, especially doughy ones. I watch my calories and track them. I choose Protein before other types of food. I went from wearing a size 20/22 to a 12 or 13 depending on women's or juniors. My tops and dresses are now medium instead of XXL. I can actually confidently by clothing without trying it on and it fits. I wear a bikini...been a really long time since that one happened last. My addiction to shoes and clothing (and don't forget accessories) is getting worse but it really is oh so fun. I am more active with my kids. I don't wake up with aches and pains. The mattress I thought was horrible is actually quite comfortable now. ???¯ And let's not leave out how amazing my sex life with hubby is now ???œ I have lost 12 inches in my waist, 9 in hips, over 4 in each thigh, almost 3 in each arm and sadly 6 in my boobies (but I would look weird if they hadn't shrunk too). I know I have been absent lately but I wanna thank all the wonderful people on this site for their continuing support and wish everyone just starting this journey luck. The journey is what you decide to make of it. You can do it!!! Thanks for letting me brag
