February Challenge-Happy Valentine's Day!
goalseeker replied to lisaholland73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you started a different workout regiment or is it that time of the month? We all have fluctuations that drive is crazy. Try to keep doing what you know is right and I'm sure it'll fall off. -
February Challenge-Happy Valentine's Day!

Congrats!! I also had my surgery in Sept, I'm down only 75 pounds, but still..we are AWESOME! My surgeon had the same reaction when I saw him last month..and I've lost another 15 pounds since then! We're rockstars!! You may not have lost 100 but I don't think the word "only" belongs in front of a 75 pound loss my dear. That's incredible!! It's very easy to catch ourselves minimizing how much we have lost when comparing to others. I have caught myself doing it from time to time. Great job!! -

Four NSV's in One Day

Wow what an awesome day! Congrats you've earned it. -
I was banded the same month as you and we are about at the same amount loss. 84 pounds is certainly NOT failure. It's AMAZING!!! If you are being honest with your calorie intake then you're doin great. Maybe try to alter the percentages you intake ie: decreasing the fat % of your diet and increasing protein. When I was in my plateau i was consuming somedays 50% of my calories from fat. Once I decreased that I was not only full longer but the scale moved. And changing up the workout is very big. Good luck

Hello! Just had my consultation!
goalseeker replied to kayzoog's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was very nervous before surgery too. I started to feel like I was being selfish, especially if something had went wrong. Sometimes selfish is good though because although it seems like this surgery is 100% for you, your family and friends get the benefit of a happier healthier more active you. You are in good hands with your surgeon, just follow all the instructions he gives you. Congrats and welcome to the faimily! -
I struggle with will power in the afternoons after I get home from work. Its like the snacks in the cabinet are calling my name. This week, I tried to enter all three meals and snacks into my fitness pal at the beginning of the day. This REALLY helped me to have a game plan and know what I am going eat and snack on. It worked too, lost 3.4 this week. Give it a try. I know that everytime I loose pre-planning is a main component of that success.

So I got a pretty cool compliment today. A fellow teacher had asked me a few months back how I lost the weight. And I told her everything. Then she emailed me about who my surgeon was. Today I saw her and she said she had started the process with my surgeon it made me feel good to know that my journey has inspired someone else to get healthy.
