Down 80 pounds in 7 months (pictures)

You look awesome!!! Great work. Keep it up -
I JUST started it today. I am at 208 and have been working out four to five days a week for 4 months now. It is definitely intense but an amazing workout. The first one was about 40 minutes. The nice thing is you can just do your best at each exercise and still benefit from the workout. I did change the calendar to 4 days a week though because there is no way my friend and I are going to be able to do it all six days. I wanted to have realistic expectations I what I could make time for.

I still have my daily coffee. I use the flavored creamers but only about 50 cal worth. If you just use milk and stevia you'll be fine. I actually gave up coffee for several months but once it got cold I gave in lol

I set my goal at 4 days a week for 30 minutes. I have little oneS (2 and 4) so it's hard to commit more time than that. If I find the time and motivation to get more days in great if not I still feel good about 4 days. I started by just walking for 30 min. Now I do more intense workouts. Just start doing something you enjoy and you will start feeling better and want to do more.

1 Year Band Anniversary and 175 pounds gone!

You look fabulous Missy!! Thank you for all the inspiration and support you provide -
I'm 4 mo postoperative and have to put a big scoop of fiber powder in my coffee and take two fiber gummies every day to stay somewhat regular. Even with that I can still go days without going.

Trying to balance my new respect for nutrition and having a 5yo
goalseeker replied to marly7's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My girls are 2 and 4. I have worried about them being overweight their entire lives. I don't want them to have to struggle the way I did. I just offer them healthy snacks, mostly water for drinks (they are so trained they rarely even ask for juice), and feed them the same dinner I am eating but with a serving of carbs. I think we have to be careful not to tell them it concerns us but make the changes or instill the healthy habits gradually. The best we can do is teach them to love healthy foods and activity...their genes are their genes no matter what we do. My dad has a doughnut ritual with them that bothers me a little but he isn't going to change and they deserve a little fun in their life. They rarely get something that bad except with him. I try to tell myself that if they are completely deprived they may start to sneak good later and I don't want that either. -

Well I got approved right away but I did give my dr a print out of my last full year of weight loss attempt from weight watchers. I'm not sure if this was needed or just helpful.

I am a bored eater. The hardest aspect of the banded life is learning to recognize when you are just head hungry and then work on finding something else to do instead of giving in. I'm not perfect, I still have moments when I eat even though I'm not physically hungry or eat more than I really need. The band has given me control! The ability to eat a smaller portion and be satisfied and the desire to make better choices. It has given me the power to change because I am no longer controlled by hunger. My motivation to workout comes from my desire to make this work finally. It's the best thing I have ever done for myself and worth every penny! (Even though my insurance did cover it I still payed 2k out of pocket.)

Good luck and congrats!! We have all been in your shoes and will be here for you. -
It will probably be very close. I was at a 39 my first visit and was told my the drs office I wouldn't qualify with no comorbidities. I tried to do it in my own for a year then went back. I ate a huge burrito, wore my heaviest clothes and drank a ton of Water before my second attempt and just barely squeaked by. It was totally worth it though!! I'm down 45 pounds in 4 months. Do what you have to to get qualified is my advice, you won't regret it. So enjoy some eating between now and your appointment.

How do you cook for your family??
goalseeker replied to bluegirly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a 2 and 4 year old as well. I cook healthy meals for all of us and if they don't like it they don't have to eat it all, BUT they have to try it. If I cook spaghetti I eat the meatballs and let them have the Pasta as well. I still eat small small portions of pasta after I finish my Protein and veggies. I think the best part of this is my kids are learning healthy habits early on. I'm hopeful that if they learn now they might be able to avoid weight problems in the future. I DO NOT cook two meals EXCEPT on rare occasions where I know they have tried the food and really dislike it. I think this teaches them they shouldn't eat the healthy stuff. -
