My insurance approval and health issues
line-dancer replied to tamara3569's topic in Insurance & Financing
I hope they know that weight loss will lower the numbers? I no longer take meds thanks to the band and 70 lbs weight loss. Good luck here hope it all works out -
it should just lay on top if you ate enough but it is important to eat so you should have something a protient drink might be good right now. One meal change is not going to change things weight wise.

What is the cost of lap band fills out of pocket?
line-dancer replied to PhatKat1127's topic in Insurance & Financing
fills for me is $150 but the flouscope is $250 and if the doctor does it its another $350 so don't vomit ever and keep drinking our water. I didn't know my insurance only cover 3 mos post op and now have a $2,000 bill to pay off -
drinking something often helps me the longer you stay stuck the more risk you take for vomiting and colapising your band. So for the long run drink something

Start over? Revision to sleeve?
line-dancer replied to AmandaC86's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Well you sure cant talk to them they have not been there so can not relate. You might tell them if they loved you they would help by not buying the junk food and bring it home and by going for walks and to the gym with you and make it fun. Let them know they aren't helping you do it yourself so you have to go elsewhere for help. Get some fills before you go in for more surgery. -
the gas is the worst part of this whole thing so keep walking and get it moving this is why I recommend you take a stool softner/laxative to get it all moving and out. Keep sipping or popcicles and your heating pad. you don't want to get dehydrated to add to everything else.

Food withdrawal symptoms
line-dancer replied to Golfbooboo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
call your doctor first thing but also add potassium and magnesium which helps with leg cramp (Charlie horses) but its a must to call your doctor first. -
This is a great time to teach them to eat right and not get into the same place. Get them involved in the shopping, preparing and cooking. Go to thrift stores for magizes and make an art project for all of you by cutting out pictures of good food then hand them all over the house. Eatting right is a family event work together you can do this

Think most of us do its a common question milk of magnisum gets it moving nicly Rite aid has a stool softner/laxative that I take daily works great...
-
yes that does sound odd...call them and the hospital and check it all out maybe they are just slow at getting it done
-
ask doctor about stool softener wish I had started it a day or so b4 the surgery it gets the gas moving out and you sure don't feel like pushing after they move things around in there. You'll do great see you on the other side.

Old habits die hard getting back on track
line-dancer replied to adugan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you should look at the positive you did make changes you ate less and you where aware of what you were doing you didn't do that before. This is a process mark down the changes you notice it give your brain a charge to keep going. You did great and should be proud as the fills come you will notice more and learn more..like ophra says "when you know better you do better" that goes for us all. Great Job -
This is very normal for get on something that works for you I use milk of magniusm which works very well but now (8 mos out) I take a stool softener/laxative daily.
