line-dancer replied to i (used to) love candy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It will come with more fills and you get into the zone...most of the head hunger will go away with them but not all...the brain has had yrs of eating this is a shock to it and tskes time to retrain...find out when you can get snother fill most people fine that if their band is just over half full they find the zone 6.5 cc in a 10cc band was my zone and a very common place to be . -

Explaining how lap band works...
line-dancer replied to samskiles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
when they put the band the opening to the stomach it creates a pouch right above it to cause the nerves ending to your brain that you are full. usally we fill our stomach up from the bottom and we can eat a lot before the nerves are touched and told the brain u have eaten. Now we are talking to the brain with the first bit that we already full which cause us to feel satisfied on a very small amount of food. At least that is my understanding. Often they have a picture of it our here,i am sure some will send it to you. -

Trying to decide what to do ...
line-dancer replied to sarahbericks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
the band isn't for everyone. like everything else it takes work I would think that if you could have done this on your own you would have lost weight anyway. The band isn't preventing you from losing only you can do that and it cant mske you lose the weight only you can do that also. Maybe you should think about if you are ready and really want to loss right now. Its not always the right time emotionally to do something this big. No matter what system you choose it will take the same amount of work and change of eating habits...this is not easy and I am praying that you get some peace. -
It makes sence that you would loss fat everywhere including around the banded area and a fill would bring you back to the restriction needed to contuine. I got confused with missy comment , it will be interesting to hear what everyone has been told.
