Was your port site ever red or look bruised? I'm 31 weeks and my port site is killing me. Its red and swollen. Baby loves kicking it. My lap band dr us not concerned. I am. She said it is just probably from my growing belly. It looks so bad. Don't know if its normal.

I am having a difficult time eating now that I am pregnant. Everything looks, smells, and tastes gross. What are some suggestions?

Thank you! It's getting better. Those pills sucked. They just caused constipation... No fun there. Now I eat a few more foods than before. I'm still picky and not gaining any weight... Dr doesn't seem worried yet. I'm being seen by high risk Dr's so I just go with what they say. After this nutrition panel I'll know what else I need to do.

Mine did not heal correctly. I had an infection and was told after the infection was treated to let it heal on its own- it was an open wound. Totally gross ... After it looked like it healed, I found out my port flipped. I wasn't crazy about having another surgery and they were able to manipulate it to still give me a fill so no big deal. Then my incision got really red and they thought my band was eroding. Did an EGD and they found nothing... It was all fine. Then I slipped on ice and fell really hard. The tubing broke through and tried to come out of that port incision. I had no choice but to have revision surgery. They moved my port to the other side and re-opened the original incision. They found dead tissue where the port incision did not heal correctly. Removed the dead tissue and left the old port incision open. I now have to pack it with gauze everyday to make sure it heals right this time. You should not ignore this. Get another opinion and get that thing healed or it can lead to major compilations.

can I still get the lapband surgery with low bmi and no comorbidities

I had my surgery in Mexico for $4500. It was by Dr Cabrera in Tijuana. Medical Tourism company organized everything for me. The hospital was a great experience. They were much nicer than any experience I've had at a hospital at home. Most of the staff speak English so it wasn't a big deal to communicate. -
I am 10 days post-op. I had some issues with my largest incision. I thought it might be infected. I went to the doctor right away, luckily it was not infected. The stitches fell off or popped off and my large incision is healing open. It looks disgusting. The dr is not too concerned with this. They just told me to keep it clean and covered. Did anyone else have to heal with an open incision?

1St Day Back To Work And Omgsh ......
dChapman replied to missymobaby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today was my first full day back at work. I tried to go in to work a full day Tuesday, but the pain was unbearable so I left early. Today I worked alone... I manage an apartment complex. It was not a good day. Barely made it through the day. Tomorrow will not be a full day at work as I need to get to urgent care first thing in the morning. Looks as if I have an infection forming from my largest incision. It has not been a fun week. Hoping that next week gets better. Planning lots of rest over Labor Day weekend. -
I'm day 5 post op. and today I am feeling more normal. The gas pains are tolerable now. I just have pain at the port site. I got up folded clothes and washed dishes and feel much better. I go back to work tomorrow. We will see how that goes.
