Just wanted to let everyone know that if you don't have a heating pad, you can use a sock full of rice. Just zap it in the microwave for a minute or two. I forgot that I didn't have one and was totally not interested in going to the store so I did the rice thing. My Nana taught that to me years and years ago. Also, I just added a new entry in my blog about my surgery. You have to be my friend to view it, but if you add me just click on blog. I put up a picture of my band (the actual band, inside of me. Lol.) if anyone wants to see. Dr. Reilly gave it to me for a souvenir. Haha. Pretty cool!

I'm not self pay, but I just had surgery yesterday at Memorial Herman Memorial City and just wanted to tell you that I went through True Results and had Dr. Reilly and literally EVERYONE that I've worked with at both offices has been great, I love my surgeon, and the hospital was very nice except for my night nurse, the one bad apple, Charlene.

I'm in quite a bit of pain. Not really feeling gas anywhere but my chest and stomach right now, did everyone feel the shoulder pain right after or did it creep on you? Hi guys! I'm new here and looking to make some friends! I start my Pre Op diet tomorrow, another appointment on Monday to finish lab work and we're scheduling my surgery date then as well! I'm getting banded by Dr. Reilly in Houston, Texas from True Results! I'm extremely excited to say the least! I can't wait to be a big fat loser! =P I can't stop thinking about what I want to wear when I hit my goal! I miss shorts and tank tops REALLY BAD! Lol! I'd love to be back in sports and to be able to keep up with my daughter! Man! Makes me happy just thinking about it! A local buddy would definitely be twice as awesome! I'm 23 and currently a stay at home mommy of an awesome 2 year old little girl! Either way, I've been snooping on these forums for a few days and all of you seem like the people I need to be around right now! I was 22 when I got mine! Be persistent! You know when something isn't right! I got treated like a whiney hypochondriac. But in the end, the hospital had to pay for the night shift not listening to me... They took an enormous chunk from my bill (after trying to charge me the full amount.... HA! I told them to shove it.). I wish you the best of luck and I do really hope that yours is really what they say, I'm pretty sure that Pleurisy isn't life threatening like a PE, not all ERs are ridiculous like the one I had so I'm sure you'll be fine. My surgery is Friday morning and I haven't been asked to do an EGD, is that normal? I'm using Dr. Reilly in Houston, Texas from True Results. I had registration and blood work done at the hospital last week and they said they didn't need anything else. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk

Blood clots! I had a Pulmonary Embolism and let me tell you.... I'd literally rather vaginally deliver quadruplets than go through that again! The pain is excruciating and the thought of "holy crap!, that could of just killed me!" doesn't feel good either. I'm coming up on my 6 month check up since my clot and I'm hoping to get off of my blood thinner, but this clot has changed my life. Because mine was from Nuvaring and smoking, my gyno doesn't want me on any type of hormones again, which sucks because I was only on it because of that. My hormones hate me big time since I had my daughter 3 years ago. I also have a much larger risk of getting another clot in the future. I'm blabbing, but if it helps one person then I'm happy!
