Im feeling down and depressed, failing miserably
cindroo replied to sugiesug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My weight fluctuates like that. I'll struggle going up and down about 10 lbs and then all of a sudden ill have a big loss for a few days. And then for the next couple weeks same struggle! I've had 3 fills, 5 cc's in a 10cc band. I don't feel much difference except in the mornings. But I keep measuring my food and getting plenty of exercise and its coming off. Getting another fill next week, though. Keep doing what you are supposed to do and the weight will come off. Please don't give up. You can do this. Best of luck to you! -
Me too! I love Zumba, but the more I do it the less the scale moves!

Does Medicare cover a band revision + plication for a BMI of 27.5?
cindroo replied to marfar7's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
They covered my mom's first band surgery, but she had to have a bmi over 35 with 2 comorbities. Her band slipped and they covered the removal, but nothing else, unless she met the same requirements. Over 35 bmi with 2 comorbities. -

They would not for my mom, unless her bmi was above 35! -

I couldn't go either, dr said that was common for it too take a few days to get everything moving. I was shopping with the family and my daughter nonchalantly hit me in the stomach to get my attention to look at something. I thought I was going to pass out it hurt so bad, but then I had to run to the bathroom. She literally knocked the s*** out of me!

I grew up with a father that was a smoker. It caused him to have Burger's disease. It is a not so well known disease, but has caused him to loose both legs, he is fighting to keep his arms and has moved into his stomach and will eventually kill him. He quit smoking about 20 years ago and he is still paying for it everyday! I had no childhood because I was taking care of my dad. I would seriously reconsider smoking please! I have lived the nightmare of what smoking can do to a person!

From start to finish mine took 10 months! I was required to so the 6 month diet, though, and then got denied for a couple bogus reasons that were easily straightened out. Most of the reason for the wait was my surgeon is very popular and I had to wait for him to have an available surgery date. I think it only took my insurance a couple weeks to get it approved!

Way to go! Congrats!!!

How Do I Deal With An Unsupportive 'best Friend'???
cindroo posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
As many of you already know I have a best friend that is completely unsupportive of lap band surgeries. I had been researching the surgery for several years before I finally started the process about a year ago. I told her that I was contemplating having the surgery and her response was that "I was being IRRESPONSIBLE and I needed to be thinking of my family!' I was furious with her response not only because my main purpose in having the surgery was for my family but because she knew how much i had struggled with loosing weight. I have had several back surgeries so exercising, except aquatic therapy, is almost impossible. We worked together for several years and so she knows my eating habits and in fact she usually ate more than me, never worked out but she can maintain a healthy weight. I actually think though that it has to do with her own insecurities, We went to high school together and I was much thinner, but actually the same size as her, but I was the one who usually received the most male attention. Since gaining weight she has had all the male attention. We are both happily married, but I do believe she likes the attention. I had not talked to her since January, when this conversation took place, my reasoning because I thought she needed to apologize. She has been mad at me for contemplating having lap band. Anyhow, she messaged me last Thursday, the day after surgery, because she found out about my daughter being in the hospital with a concussion. I told her I just had surgery, but I told her it was to have a hernia fixed. Since then we have been messaging back and forth and everything was going okay, kind of back to normal, until she askes if "I am still thinking about having that ridiculous surgery?" I didn't answer her and she says "Are you sure that isn't why you had surgery" Again, I didn't respond to her question. So then she says, "we need to get together sometime and go out to eat, and then we will find out the truth!" I honestly don't know how to deal with her anymore. Do I tell her the truth and listen to the backlash or just leave her alone and go on with my life? I'm not sure if a true friend would treat me this way! -
