    Papaya enzyme

    Awesome info, thanks!

    Papaya enzyme

It is an extract of raw papaya that helps in digestion of meats. I have heard it mentioned a few times at these forums but I am unsure on how to use it.

    To tattoo or not?

I had not heard of not donating blood after the band. Can anybody else chime in?

    Second Thoughts

I have not had much bread since I got the band, as I usually get stuck on it. Have you noticed that it goes down better if it is well toasted?

    Over halfway to my goal!

    Great job!

    Second Thoughts

I "had" type II diabetes and sleep Apnea before the band. I am off all meds and the Bi-PAP machine. With these life threatening conditions along with being overweight, the lap bad can be a sensible choice. You could loose the weight on your own and then you may gain it back. With the other conditions described, I would definitely consider the band.

I feel like its time to share again!

Great job man! keep it up. I am a little bit behind you in the waist area with 42 inch being a little tight but your post is an inspiration. Most every post we see is talking about sizes 8, 10, 12 etc. which is great for the women but is a little depressing when we men talk in sizes that are 3 to 4 times that number Don't even get me started about the 38DDD's. That gets the mind moving in a totally different direction

    sweet success

Ha Ha, I have been telling my wife - give me a few months and I will weigh less than you! Not gonna happen as when she resolves to loose weight she does it very quickly. Still if this works as motivation...
  11. Saw the doctor yesterday for an un-fill (reflux issues) - he says my weight loss is like a Gastric bypass patient. I'm so pumped up!

Losing no weight with my lapband help?

By the way I had my mother in law do this diet for a couple of weeks and she was not very strict with it. She did 2 weeks a month for 2 months and she lost about 20 lbs without the band. She went back home very happy. She did walk for a good hour every day. As she had helped us with our twin terrors for a few months, I was very grateful as well

Losing no weight with my lapband help?

Pure Protein bars are low on fiber but they do taste very good and sweet. I did occasionally have one as dessert. Try them, chewy and come in many flavors.

Losing no weight with my lapband help?

I have used both Bariatric Advantage and pure Protein Bars. Pure Protein tastes better but the bariatric advantage bars keep you full longer as they have a good amount of Fiber A shake or a bar with atleast 5 grams of fiber is what I like as it keeps me full and able to stay on this "diet" and make no mistake - the pre band diet is a diet and not something you can be on for long. It does help kick start weight loss though. :-)

And don't forget the water! 8-10 glasses a day.

Losing no weight with my lapband help?

Why not go back to basics? Do the pre-band diet for 2 weeks - Mine was 3 Protein Shakes and 2 bars a day (Under 180 calories each with 15+ gms of protein) + carrots, celery, cucumber and lettuce If you start to loose weight then you need to rethink how you are currently eating.

    Almost to 50!

    Great job!

    Fat-Free Yogurt?

Note that the amount of Protein varies a lot between brands, I like Fage as it has a lot of protein. Another thing to note if you are watching the calories is that the fruit flavored ones have a lot of sugar syrup. I prefer to put in my own fresh berries especially with all the fresh berries I have growing in my back yard.

    Ond'erland I have arrived.

    Great job, congratulations!
  22. Have you reached out to your insurance company or their patient care group if that is applicable or the equivalent department in the National Health system? They probably have the muscle to make a doctor accept you as a patient to avoid the case becoming an emergency surgery.

    Getting into exercise

I try to do things I enjoy - Bicycling Tennis - hitting against a ball machine When I don't have the time or cant get motivated I walk.
  24. Just tethering on the 100 kgs (220 lbs) mark. Cant wait to be under that. I'm now 135 lbs below my maximum weight. The band has changed my life.
