    Omg What Did I Do?

The pre-op diet seems tough at times, but you have to keep thinking that it is for a reason. In a week or so you'll have the surgery, isn't that what you've been working for? It is worth the deprivation for a week to get the results. Drink 2 protein shakes a day. They fill you up enough for a long time, so you don't feel the need to eat. Remember ....you have a goal! The surgery.....you can do it!!!
  2. Good luck! Good thoughts being sent your way!

    Third Day Paranoia

I just finished my first week post-op. One day I felt awful, then the next started to feel better. It was my fifth day that my body, and mainly my head, finally cleared out all the anesthesia. I am feeling much better and can walk around the block and start to do all the 'normal' routines. You can do it! It gets easier!

    Lmnash

I, too, am older, 56. I was banded on August 20th. I have lost 20 lbs. from where I started. I'm very happy with that! I too feel hungry frequently, but I also realized that if I sip water frequently, it seems to take away the hunger. Also, on my 'liquids' I'm allowed to have yogurt (no chunks of fruit) and small curd cottage cheese. These 2 have been great to help me think I'm eating real food and find it satisfying. I use Chobani Vanilla Greek yogurt because it has 23 gr. of protein. As for vitamins, I got the gummy bears for adults version! I'm looking forward to eating soft foods!

    1 Week After Surgery

I also was banded on the 20th. At first didn't want to eat anything, as it all tasted weird. Now am on "full liquids". I'm getting tired of just shakes, but add in cottage cheese and yogurt. Soups are still tasting 'off' and 'gag-y' so haven't gone back to try them again. For some reason I'm craving chicken! One thing I'm confused about is how I am still hungry all the time. I can only eat small portions at a time but seem to be hungry again in an hour or so.
  7. I was banded on Monday. Am having problems with shoulders and pain, but also anything I am drinking seems to have a strange taste to it and a huge aftertaste. Never experienced this before. Also can also drink only about 2 oz. at a time. Is this normal?

    Taste Affected?

Thanks for your reply, I hope this goes away. Even chicken broth is making me gag!
