  1. Oh, have a touched a nerve? Good. I am not the one calling myself butterbean. bubye, fatties
  2. well good for you, we all have our own reasons for doing it, and some of us arent big fat heifers
  3. Wow, you sound jealous. Get over yourself. A good surgeon looks at all the options, and makes the decision. I have a question for you? How could you let yourself get so obese that you would need the surgery anyways? Maybe you should stop telling all of us what is right and not right and be happy for someone that is trying to change their lives.
  4. I am 3 weeks post op as of this past wed. I have lost 18lbs since surgery. stalled this week. No worries though as everyone is different. Also started eating real food this week, so that might have something to do with it. Once your new stomach and body stabilize, the weight will start to come off again. Dont worry about eating too much. You will know quickly if you have. I can only get about two bites of food in before I feel satified. You will lose weight. I am only taking in about 600 calories a day along with 35 min of light eliptical trainer, so I know I am not doing anytning wrong.
  5. Sleeved Sept 19th in Puerto Vallarta. Great experience, minus the cancelled flights by American! Dr Lopez and his whole staff were very nice. Hospital was very very nice, but brush up on your spanish, as the nurses didnt speak very much english. The hardest thing for me was the two week pre op diet. Since the start of the pre op diet and since surgery 3 weeks ago, I have lost a total of 31 lbs. My BMI was not super high, around a 32.78, but nonetheless, I am happy with the outcome. It has dropped to below 29, and I was told that once that stabilizes, and you heal completely, the weight will start coming off quicker. I hit a stall this week, but its all good. Starting to eat real food again, although very very little, but everything is healing up nicely. No reason to be nervous. You will be well taken care of. Mexico drs and hospitals far superior in my opinion to facilities here.

Post op updates from Dr Lopez surgery in PV. To quote my wife: the whole experience felt like we were in a soap opera and the whole time we were treated as celebrities. From the time we got picked up from the airport, staying at an ocean view resort and spa and being waited on at a brand new and spotless hospital. All the surgeons were handsome and the nurses were gorgeous. It truly felt like a spa vacation. The trade off for not being able to swim and soak up the sun was well worth the on-going weight loss and how hot our bodies are going to be in a few month. Loved it loved it loved it!!! So excited about whats ahead. Totally recommend Dr Lopez in PV!!!

Here is what I am saying in porta Vallarta these things are not provided for you you need to prepare and bring me some things or purchase them at the resort when you check in I have no idea about Tijuana I did not say that Jenny's is lying to you so calm down and think about what I am sad you won't be able to eat for 2 days pretty much after your surgery except for ice chips in the hospital once you get out, you will only be able to take very small sips of water down Gatorade trust me or some clear broth or soup very small amounts don't be discouraged I am just telling you my experience which was all good

Look. I know what they have told you. I used alitghter me as well. At the marriot in pv they do not include that stuff for free. You have to purchase gatorade broth from tue restsurant as well as wster bottles. As well as wound dressing etc. I was there. Please listen.

Well, I was at the hotel for 5 days two weeks ago. They do not provide complimentary popsicles, or broth. You have to pay for it. Now if your coordinator has a side deal set up, that is different, but I was there, and the hotel makes you pay for that stuff, trust me. Also, after the surgery, you will not be able to eat or even sip almost anything for a few days, so by then, you will be home or on your way home.

They might have popsicles there but you still have to pay for the food at a hotel. Broth is fine as well but you have to pay for it

Food? What are you talking about? First off, you are not supposed to be eating anything the night before. Once you get the surgery, you will be eating ice chips for the next two days. Then, if you are even able, watered down gatorade in very small sips. clear broth possibly, but you wont be able to take in much, just alot of Water. You will be fine. You wont be eating solid food for a while after.

And i had it done in mx because the Bariatric Surgeons in MX are much better and better trained as well. Not because it was cheaper

Ok then, you asked. Trust me, i worked in the medical proffesion for 15 years in the US, the quality of care is much much better in MX. The US is more dangerous and the drug violence and violence in gerneral is way overhyped in MX.

Why are there so many parioid people on here. Stop being so scared. Take your passport with you to the hospital. Dont leave it in the hotel as you will check out the morning of the surgery and then check back in when the hosptial releases you. You dont have to tip anyone you dont want to. Standard practice at any hotel is to tip the service people there. Hospitals are better than the ones in this country and there is no need to be scared. If you are that scared about going to mx then you shouldnt go
  20. No not at all. That is standard. You only need one. I did have gas pains after the surgery for a few hours that night and the pain meds helped, but the best thing you can do to alleviate the gas pains is to get up and walk as soon as you can after the surgery. That helps more than the pain meds The next day, I was feeling much much better. Just pack lightly, with loose fitting clothes. My wife came with me, she had the surgery as well. We were both not as bad off as some people here, both just over 30bmi, but still very glad we had the surgery. You will do fine. Mexican hospitals in my opinion are better and nicer than the ones here. Brush up on your spanish though. The nurses didnt speak alot of english. But everyone was very caring and nice. We loved being in PV. Wonderful city, and no reason not to feel not safe. The drug violence is overhyped, and honestly your more at risk in this country.

I am taking it slow. We have been able to eat thicker soups, etc, but not even gonna think about solid food for at least a week. Please be careful.
