  1. Happy 52nd Birthday Jamag04!

  2. Thanks Mstrina. Wow, you seem to be doing great! Keep up the good work. I will google this, hopefully I can get some more information as to what the problem could be. I am going back to the Dr. on the 24th and she is going to take a look at it with the xray machine they use when we go for a fill. (not sure what the monster is called!) Maybe that will show something the ct scan might have missed. I hope so, I don't want to have another surgery. This would be my third if they find something not right. First my band, then a few weeks later my port flipped so they had to go in and fix that...and now this. I just haven't had a good experience with the lap band. I hope it gets better soon. It's pretty frustrating. Again, thanks for responding...take care. Jeanne
  3. Hi All. I was banded in March of 2007. Doing just OK. Was wondering if anyone has had this problem. After my banding last year, I developed what the Dr. said was a hematoma. A huge bulge on my left side under my rib cage. Didn't really bother me, and did go down after quite a while. Last week, a bulge appeared again, same spot, but now with lots of pain. Cannot do my every day activities without having to sit because of pain. Had a ct scan, nothing showed. Not even the hematoma that I was told it was in the beginning. Had anyone every experienced pain and a huge bulge? Do you think the band might have slipped or maybe erosion is happening? My Dr. swears that there is nothing to worry about. But if not, why is there constant pain? Please, I would appreciate any help. Thanks so much.
  4. Hello all! I an fairly new to this site, though I registered last year when I was banded. Never had time to post, though I have had nothing but complications since I have been banded, I should have or wished I had looked for support before now. I am very discouraged. I was hoping someone might be able to help. First a bit of history, I was banded March of 2007, night of surgery I had to stay in the hospital because of a heart condition, just to be sure I was ok. The surgery went well, though that evening a huge bulge developed right above the port site. I was told it was a hematoma. Well I did ok after the surgery though the hematoma bothered me, but I was told it would cause no problem that my body would take care of it. When I went for my first fill a few weeks later, the port had flipped. So needless to say, I had to have surgery again. Finally I was ok for a while, the hematoma did get smaller but did not totally go away. I lost about 40pounds total in over a year...a very very slow process. Now, about 2 weeks ago, the hematoma came back with a vengence. A huge bulge now, and much pain. A ct scan was done because now they think it wasn't a hematoma at all but a hernia. Well nothing showed on the scan. The pain is still there, I cannot walk or sleep or anything without pain. The Dr. swore nothing was wrong. But I am not crazy, the bulge is huge and there is pain. I don't know what to do now. Could my band have slipped? How would I know? Could it be eroding? Has anyone else ever had pain? It is on the left side right under my rib cage. I can't even take a deep breath without wincing in pain. Please, I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you all so much. You are such a help to others. Take care.

    Is this normal?

thanks girls for your advice and replies. I know it will get better and I just need to give it more time. Helen I can't imagine going back to work as of yet. I need another week off. How did you do it? Both you and Betsy have great weight losses! Keep up the good work! Take care! 280/257/150

    Is this normal?

Hi Stacy! I too had my banding on the 5th. I thought by now I would be feeling better. I can feel "something there" also. That hasn't let up at all. I developed a huge hematoma to the left of my top incision. I think that is why I am not feeling as well as I should because it hurts like heck. I am feeling very nauseous today too. I sure hope things get better. I am having second thoughts now as to why I did this to myself! I read posts from some people who have gone back to work on day 3, who are driving on day 5. I can't imagine...I hope you are doing better than I think I am! One day at a time I suppose. Thanks and hope things go well for you. Take care. Jeanne:sick 280/257/150
