    October Spooktacular Challenge

  2. Sweetie, i'm 5'4- first Dr. appointment on 7/26/12 I was 445lbs, strated my pre-op diet on 8/7/12, and was banded 8/21/12. On my pre-op I lost 17lbs, two weeks post I lost 12lbs, then i strted eating "normal" and I lost only 7lbs in 3 weeks. I freaked out because I thought i was getting getting off track ( as it turns out losing 1-2lbs a week is normal fo ra bandster) But have so much weigh to lose that I needed way more so I did ketosis for 3 days an dlost 6lbs, and teh a couple of days later I started my 30 day challenge today is my 8 day in it with a 2 days only liquids because I had my first fill. I exercise one hour five times a week now andI drink a gallon of water a day and today it's oficially 2months since I started my Journey and i'm 395lbs exactly 50lbs down!!! It can be done youjust have to help your band help you. Remebr its a tool is easier to diet becaus eyou are not hungry all the time and if tou are like I was last week it's becuase you need a fill. You area guy and guys tend to lose weigh faster so don't be discouraged. Remebr if you ever get stuck ina rut just get your body in ketosis mode for 3 dyas and you will be back on track =) Major luck ok.

    No i'm not doing weight watchers, but I totally agree with you helping you band help you. I got banded on august 21 2012 so i'm fairly new at this but right now i'm on this super healthy 30 days challenge, plus one hour exercise 5 times a week, and a gallon of water a day and I lost 9lbs in 5 days no lie =) before that I had done 3 days of ketosis ( 6lbs in 4 days)because I thought I was off track because with my dieticians diet I had only lost 7lbs in 3 weeks ( which people told me that was about what lap-band patients lose each week 1-2lbs a week). I started at 445lbs. My pro-op diet started august 8, surgery was august 21, and i'm now 395lbs =). I had done thi schallenge before and it's really healthy but it was really hard for me to follow, with my band now it is really ok. Basically use you your tool ( band) to your advantage GOOD LUCK!
  4. Well what works for soem people don'r work for others so I guess it's goin to be a live an learn experience but you love each other ( I hope lol!) so half the battle is already won. I do agree with ajtexas0 don't make it a competition beacuse one he is going to win lol!! for soem reason guys tend to lose faster than us girls ( I hate them lol) Two that would only mak eu bitter =( so maybe just maybe if you do it at different times that can actually be prevented because you two would be at different stages and if you are competitive you get it don efirst so you have a head start ( omg! look at me being all evil and sneaky lol) also who is going to help you out guys? The first few nights I needed help turning on my own bed. Just think about it seetie ok. Major luck to you and your hubby =)

  7. Before at 445lbs, after at 150lbs it's not alot but I think you can see a little difference on my face =)

Thanks!! but if you ever get the chance to see my other videos it had not always been the same, until I really stated reading more of these posts and realized one that I was being a spoiled brat! lol!! and two that I could do something more to help my band help me =) and not let it do all the work! So I'm doing my 30 day challenge on the food, i'm working out 1hr a day 5 times a week and i'm drinking a gallon of Water a day ( super hard). So that smy part my band just does the rest for me =) and yeah i'm happy because i'm bieng too blessed to be stressed

  13. Hi everyone, Well I got my first fill today I have an 11cc band and today they put only 2ml ( 2cc) in it of whatever it is they put in there. I'm like totally fine they told me that I should go back in two weeks to get another fill unless i'm ok with it by then. Sure is my first fill and it was in the morning, but I don't fill necessarily hungry but i'm not really full either i'm like just there if that makes sense. Anyway is this normal? how did your first fill go?
  14. Hey girls tahnks for the replies. Wel I do see the difference too I mean before this fill Icould eat almost normal and I do fell some restriction. I'm on liquids too but what I meant is that I feel restriction but I don't feel full or hungry it's like in between I don't know if im expleaining my self right t's weird. Weird but not bad i'm totally fine =)

  17. I'm oficially out of the 400's yey!!! I started my pre-op on 8/8/12 @ 445lbs got banded on 8/21/12 and it is now 10/4/12 and i'm oficially 399.4lbs =) yey for me =) I have met my first weigh loss goal that it was to breake the 4, in more pounds I will reach my second goal that it is to lose my first 50lbs yey again! =) ps. I will up-date my ticker on monday =)

    Omg!! you guys i'm still ecstatic like I still can't believe it. Nothing can ruin my happiness today and its been such a long time since I felt happy that its like a whole ne thing fo rme lol!!! Thanks all of you for your congrats, happy dances etc. really it means the worl to me. God bless!

    Please Help

    Honey honestly the first night I wasn't even able to sleep cause I was on pain especially my back so most of the night I just walked around my house almost all night. A couple of hours I even came here cause I just could not sleep. but trust me you have nothing to worry about and tomorrow you will feel a little better. Congrats!!! FWI I did not have a heating pad so I just put a blanket on the dryer and it worked very well for me =)

I'm having problems chewing my food i think i don't do it enough a few times I feel the food going doen my esophqagus and it's not a nice feeling but it's not terible eithr the food feels like its kin of stuck but nothing like you swettie so I don't know if it a stuck episode or not but then again friday is going to be my first fill =) I'll see after that. I have toremember to chew chew chew =)

I though it was going to be like the gallbladder one but no. well in a way it is almost like it nut the difference is thta it takes a little longet for you to feel up to speed. with the gallbladder i was up and about within four days and the lap-band you can move and everything about it took me a good week and a half to actually feel comfortable with no pain on my back. Is it worth it? hell yeah!!

First of all thankyou all for you replies =) If you want to join me in this 30 day challenge you guys are mor ethan welcome you can do your own thing but for you others wandering what i'm doing allow me to explain. Las year I lost 20 lbs in one month ( I wasn't banded yet) I did no exercise at all but to tell you the truth it was really hard to do ( I guess thats whyyou call it a challenge right). Basically I joined this Facebook page that is managed by this nutritionist that woorks for the biggest Spanish television network in The U.S.A. He posted each daymwhat you weres upposed to eat the next day an dif youfollowed his instructions you woul lose the weight most people conbined it with exercise that he suggested also but I did not. First week Iost 14lbs, second I lost 4, and third 2 and then I did no tweigh myself cause honestly I cheated all the last week =( my sister lost 12lbs and my mom lost 14, and my other sister lost only ten she never did it right. If you want to do this one like me you can only problem is the FB page is in spanish I think there is a transalt ebutton somewhere. If you want to do it I can help you out just give m ea couple of days andI'll transalte one week ahead and posted on my fb support page all u have to do is join and I'll post it on my note also I can e-mail them to you I just think posting it is easier. I ask thi stwo days beacuse you eat more in this diet and i'm making it lap-band friendly also you eat more if you are a guy, It's up to you just heat me up by tomorrow so I can get started for those who are interested ok. Also don't be like me and keep your goals realistic lol!! so we won't be dissapointed later. it's worth the try right!!
