Well, today is the day! 11 months and 8 days after banding.... DOWN 100 LBS! Best decision I have ever made, Dr. Fielding (NYU) changed my life!

Hi everyone! I could really use some helpful advice. I'm one year post band, and down 100 pounds! As great as that sounds, I'm having a very very difficult time with the loose skin on my arms. My arms had gotten very very big at the very end of my weight gain, and even with the weight loss I'm still having a hard time losing that flabby skin. I'm getting married in November, and I'm wearing a strapless down, and would hate to have these arms in all of my pictures for eternity. What has anyone done to help tone their arms? Keep in mind, I just broke my wrist in April, I needed to have surgery to fix it, so I'm not allowed to use anything with weights!

Congratulations! I am 13 pounds away from that special place myself LOL keep up the great work -
So, some of you already know, I will have been banded for a year on August 15. In that time, I've lost 100 pounds, and can hardly believe it. It is taking a long time for me to recognize certain victories, but I can say for certain that today was one of the best ones. I had to go to a wedding, and the dress I was planning on wearing ended up being way too big. I didn't know, until I attempted to get dressed, and started to freak out because I had nothing to wear. I called my mom, ran to her house, raided her closet and while holding my breath attempted to wear one of hers. Well, this formally size 24, was able to wear her mother's size 10! That's me, the blonde on the right, in my moms dress!!

So, I was banded in August of 12, I'm down 96 lbs, and probably would like to lose another 50. I was over 300 lbs on my band day, and my fiancé was not sure of my choice. He's a bigger guy himself, but proposed to me when I was over 250 lbs, so I knew he'd love me no matter what. Lately, family and friends are full of compliments, and keep saying things like "keep it up", or "don't give up". It took me a long time to realize they were being supportive, the fat girl in me thought they were taunting me, as if to say "don't be too proud, you still have a long way to go". Moral of the story, despite what you see in the mirror, you need to let go of the "fat girl" inside, and learn to love the new way people make you feel! -
Thank you everyone! As you all know, it isn't easy! But at least we know it works!

Please don't apologize, ask away! I'm actually not doing any exercising right now, but I really need to start. Unfortunately back in April I was in a pretty bad car accident and I broke my wrist and needed surgery to fix it. So I wasn't allowed to do much exercise! I was finally just cleared by the doc, so I'm gonna start using the gym (lol, soon claim!)

As ironic as it sounds, I'm actually in the red zone.i had a fill last Friday, and I don't tolerate them so well initially. But then in about 2 weeks I'd say I'm green, and then 2-3 weeks from then, I find myself hungry all of the time and needing a fill. So I change throughout the month
-
It's been a tough year. From August to January I didn't lose anything! So it's really only been about 7 months of weight loss. For me, the most success I have had has been because I have been filled each month so far. I only do small increments, .1 cc each fill. The first week and a half to two weeks after my fills I'm extremely constricted, even though you're only supposed to be on liquids for a few days, I find myself only being able to tolerate liquids in that timeframe. The second two weeks of the month, it's easier for me and I can get down some soft fishes and other things. Once I am down the hundred pounds, my doctor and i discussed only being filled every other month, to lose the rest of what I'm hoping to. Just keep telling myself, it's a marathon, not a sprint LOL

August 15 marks 1 year since my band! 94 lbs down, hoping to hit the 100 mark by the anniversary, and 130 by my wedding in November! Best decision I've ever made!

I was just banded on August 15, 3 days ago, by Dr. George Fielding. Any questions, I'm glad to try to answer! -

I was banded on the 15th. I went for a 20 minute walk the following day, and was fine, but then I was very sore yesterday. Today has been better, still relaxing but getting acclimated. I think I'm hungry, but I'm not sure lol, I guess I'm learning :-).
