Time off from work
whitneymalae replied to Mozzy562's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For some reason I had in my head that because I was young I wouldn't have a hard time bouncing back but boy was I mistaken! I originally took a week off, came back for 2 days, then had to take another week off. But my job is a lot of physical work and I was on a 2 week clear liquid diet so my protein levels were low and I had no energy. You should probably take at least a week off, Maybe more depending on how physical your job is. Congrats and good luck with your surgery! -

My first few weeks were filled with times like that where I would feel completely exhausted. Are you getting in enough protein right now?

Jennifer, I think the same thing happened to me! I never realized how much I rubbed my shoulders and collar bone until I starting catching myself thinking about how boney they feel now! -
Dont throw stones at glass houses
whitneymalae replied to selbradey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Haha^ I think if someone attacks you, you are fully entitled to a smartass response back, but man there are some people on here are quick to be mean! I have seen one person go as far as to call someone else ugly and fat during a fight... on a weight loss support group... WTF? I personally had this surgery so that I could still enjoy eating a "bad" thing or 2 on occasion, for me it is all about portion control. I enjoy delicious food too much to completely cut it out for nothing but rice cakes and salads -

I just read that thread! I hardly even get on here now because every other thread is some attack and ridiculous back and forth! It makes me afraid to post anything I'm struggling with for fear of getting verbally jumped by hardcore sleevers! haha I think people need to remember that this is a SUPPORT community! -

Not Telling People....
whitneymalae replied to JPSnAZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you should do whatever you are comfortable with and I wish you the best of luck on your journey ahead! If people ask, you can always say it was time to make a change and eat better! It's the truth but not too much detail! -

Any October 23Rd Sleevers Out There?
whitneymalae replied to happytobehere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved on the 22nd, close enough! Let's see I lost a pound a day for a week after surgery then hit a stall. I am only down 11 since surgery BUT during the stall I dropped 2 pant sizes and have gone from 44 to a 38 in the bra department so there at least was some change when the scale wasn't moving! I am eating soft foods at this point... I haven't been getting in enough protein and am working on fluids! I'm also finally getting energy back! -
What's The Longest Time You've Been In A Stall?
whitneymalae replied to Ms.Rosie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my stall a week after surgery, it broke today so almost 2 weeks stalled. My doc said to eat more and see if that helped and it worked for me! -
I was sleeved oct 22 and stalled one week later and it let up today! My doc told me to eat more to break the stall, I did and it worked. He said to look at the amount of calories i was consuming, there was no way that the 500-600 cal/day was enough for me to gain and it was no fault of my own that I wasn't losing! Everyone has these from what I have seen, good luck!

Dr. McKinney with mother Francis, sleeves on oct 22! How about you?
