Thank you! I do have the Lose it app on my phone but i am so terrible about logging food into it. But when i do i get even more disgusted with myself when i see the amount of calories, carbs, and sodium. I will definitely start to use the app more often. Thanks again

Today i got on the scale and i gained 6 lbs from the last time i weighed myself, but i gained 9lbs since the last time i went to the doctor 2 months ago. Sometimes i get discouraged when i see the scale go up and down. I dont feel like im losing weight but today my co worker said he can tell that i have lost weight. He also told me that youve been working out alot so the weight gain could be the fat turning into muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. When i see the scale go up and down it makes me nervous to weigh myself at home and even more nervous when they weigh me in the doctors office.

Ive done it on a couple of occasions and from my experience ive thrown up or have been in pain for hours. Once you do it once or twice trust me you wont want to have that feeling. There are still times when i eat and dont feel full or eat and then a couple of hrs later be hungry again. My doctor told me to eat a 1/2 a cup of food first and then of ur hungry later eat another 1/2 a cup. I used to b able to eat a whole pot of Pasta, rice, or potatoes. I definitely understand where you coming from. I still crave those foods but ill have it once a month if that. But i was told by several ppl that my eat habits have changed. So you can do it and I believe in you.

Ive noticed chicken is one of the foods that is hard to go down when i bake it or grill it on the george foreman. Recently what ive been doing with chicken is putting it in a non stick fry pan fry it for a minutes with the seasonings on it and then add about a cup of water to it and then cover it and let the water cook off of it. So far it has worked and the chicken had been moist.

Dont feel discouraged. Youve come this far. You made the decision in ur mind that you want to lose weight dont worry about the nay sayers. Honestly, your eating habits will change because things you were able to eat before you might not be able to eat. This is coming from someone who ate pasta, pizza, rice, and potatoes everyday. The only person you have anything to prove to is yourself. We are all here to see you succeed. If you need something other than water try the water enhancer like mio that helps alot or the crystal light drink packets. Occasionally, i will have a juice or an arizona green tea.

My girlfriend at a similar issue when she needed Fluid taken out of her band. Her surgeons assistant kept saying the port is on a diagonal or its turning and he couldnt get it. After poking her several times he was able to get some fluid out but not enough for her to swallow her saliva or Water for that matter. I did get pissed when she said the water went down and it didnt. When we got outside the emergency room she started throwing up so i made her turn back around and get more taken out and the same thing he couldnt find it, but he was able to take enough fluid out the second time that she was able to drink water. I would have to agree with ur husband i wouldnt go back to the NP ask ur doctor to fill you. I am lucky that at my doctors office they numb the port area so that u dont feel it cause im a baby when it comes to pain. Good luck to you! AJ

Belly Sleep Question - 10 Days Post Op
AJohnson05 replied to sweetsam2005's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am the same way. The only way i can sleep is on my stomach. The day i had the surgery it was uncomfortable to lay on my back because of the pain. I took a pillow wrapped it around my stomach and laid that way and i was able to sleep. The only downside is when i called my surgeons office that day they said try not to lay on ur stomach because the arching of ur back might cause the band to slip. After that i was very cautious. The gas was another thing that bothered me the day of the surgery when i got home because of the pain in my back. Walking was the key for me to get the gas to move and also a loving person who laid in the bed with me and rubbed my back so it wouldnt hurt. When i received my first fill which was about 6weeks or so after the surgery his assistant said i can resume normal activity and i asked her could i go back to sleeping on my stomach and she said yes. After that ive been sleeping on my stomach ever since. -
Dont worry about the getting stuck feeling. You do get a pain in ur chest that does feel like a heart attack. Dont panic or try and force it up. What i usually do that works is if something gets stuck while I'm eating i stop eating go to the bathroom and lean over the sink and by then the food comes up. Trust me once u have that feeling once you dont want to have it again.

Bahamas Cruise In 6 Weeks, 5 Day Pouch Test
AJohnson05 replied to Sunshyne068's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good luck to you! Im definitely in the same boat as far has being stuck after losing the first 20lbs and the scale continues to go up and down. Also, potatoes, rice, & Pasta have always been the food i ate before my surgery and ive drastically tried to limit them afterwards, but havent seen much of a difference yet. But i wish you well on your weight loss. AJ
