    New Bander

I am Steph, from Erie, PA. I started at 240 lbs and am down to 222.3 as of tonight! My goal is 140-150, but my first goal is 215. Second goal is Onederland! Baby steps! I hope to keep in touch with you guys, it's great knowing others understand what each of us are going through.

    New Bander

I took it easy for about an hour and headed out to my son's football game. The fresh air was nice! Finally done with homework and dinner here and get to relax again! I feel like this band is making me way less active than I used to be, but I have to accept that I am still healing! Down 17 lbs as of tonight p.s. my name is Steph

    New Bander

I lasted a whole 3.5 hours at the office today, wow did that wipe me out! I guess I have to remember I am not all healed like I think I am! Wow, your port is on the right side, I haven't heard of that before, but I am sure it's each surgeons choice as to the best spot to put it. I have no idea why I didn't think of ice until yesterday, but it makes a huge difference! How are you guys doing today?

    New Bander

I was banded the same day as the two of you. I am at 15 pounds lost. I too am very sore at the port site. I am returning to work tomorrow and am hoping I don't fall asleep in my office! I iced the port site for the first time since surgery earlier, HUGE help! I wish the both of you all the best!
  5. I just was banded on Thursday, the 27th. Not much pain, just really sore at the port site. In the hospital, the day of surgery I made sure to keep up with the pain meds. Friday morning I was more exhausted than anything due to labs/nurses/etc coming in my room all night. I took one last dose of pain meds that morning. I was discharged yesterday at about 2 pm, my husband and I walked around the grocery store waiting for my scripts to be filled. I was exhausted from that. I was up and in the shower by 7 am this morning. Just very sore, but the pain is bearable. It occurs more when trying to get up from a lying down position (it is true on here when everyone describes the pain as how you would feel after doing millions of sit ups!!) I sware the walking helped. I begged the nurses as soon as I got to my room to help me get up. Each walk gets easier! I think it is all what you put into it! Walk a lot, heating pad on your belly helps a ton! Good luck on your journey!
  6. Good luck to everyone today! Sounds like a lot of people are Thursday, I am as well! So nervous, SOOOOO very excited!
  7. September 27th here! I am so excited and so terrified at the same time! I have done very well on liquid pre-op diet, lost 11 pounds so far. That is exciting to me! Hope all the other September bandsters are doing well!

    Isopure

I have tried the Isopure (I think it's Frosty Orange) Orange and the Alpine Punch. Both are good, but I drink them 1/2 water 1/2 Isopure, and on a TON of ice! The weird after-taste seems to not exist when you mix it with water. They are a refreshing change from the thick protein shakes!

    Keeping The Silence

I would not deny it if asked directly. It's just, so far in the process, I haven't had the need to tell anyone but my husband. I just don't want discouragment from anyone. The main reason is because of a close friend who had wls and has cheated in every way possible, and blames the surgery for not losing weight. I don't want to hear their advice. It is my journey, so for now, I am keeping it at that.

    Keeping The Silence

I am so glad that you started this post! I also have only told my husband, as everyone else makes comments about another family who was banded...and quite honestly, I don't want the judgment and comments to distract me! My husband is there for the daily struggles, not the judgmental people! Glad to know I am not alone.

Less Than A Week To Go

How is everyone else doing? 5 days into liquid diet and doing fine on that end, just getting super nervous about surgery!
  12. Hi everyone. I just wanted to thank everyone on here, I have been quietly reading all of the different topics, comments, etc. during the last six months of my pre-op preparation. I am three days into my pre-op liquid diet and my surgery is scheduled for Thursday, September 27th (less than a week!!) I am excited, nervous, scared-out-of-my-mind and hopeful! I really am grateful that everyone on here is so open and honest! Again, thank you!
