    Struggling with solid food

I would definitely see the surgeon if you can't get any food down. Definitely something wrong. Hopefully something they can easily fix.
  2. Try taking out the yogurts and protein shakes. I do not eat anything that is not solid. Just isn't worth the calories if it isn't going to stay with me. When I was losing I was eating 500-600 calories and exercising at least an hour a day. Now that I am at goal I eat about 800 calories a day and still exercise every day. You have to find what works for yo. I track everything still!

    Liquid diet after a fill?

Be patient, you will not feel any difference while you are on liquids. You should notice when eating the right dense proteins, the right amount and eating slow. It is also a huge head game. Measure, eat and wait. It takes time for your brain to recognize that you don't need to eat more.

    Feeling sick

It is a huge head game to undertake. And a lot of the hunger is head hunger. Find other things you can drink. I struggled as I couldn't stand to drink water, but I found that after several days your brain catches up and it becomes easier. Hang in there, it is well worth it!

    Incision

Agree with others. See if you can send the photo to your doctors office. They may be able to advise you over the phone. Let us know how it turns out.

    Biking Banders

Wow! I hope to ride a long distance. I was riding 5 miles 3-4 times a week until last Thursday when I had my hip replaced. I hope the healing time goes fast. It sucks right now!
  7. If you got stuck that easy, you may want to hold off on a fill.

    I am hungry!

Protein drinks are liquid! You shouldn't have any problem getting liquid down. Be patient and find things to distract the head hunger. I am literally sitting in my ass all day because I just had my hip replaced. Believe me, I could eat 24 / 7, but you have to find ways to discipline yourself. If you are able to eat foods, make sure you really know what you are eating! Keep pushing forward. You will get past this.

    Hair loss?

The Nioxin didn't help me and is very expensive.
  10. Start logging all of your food and exercise. If you are not burning enough calories through exercise it will take longer. I was eating 600 calories and burning 500-700 calories every day. it took me several weeks to see it on the scale. You should be gaining muscle as you go and will notice your clothes getting bigger more then the scale loss! If you can eat solid protein and feel satisfied, not full, for 3-4 hours you are on the right track. Don't listen to your head! Head hunger is hard to get past.
  11. I was banded 1/30/12. I am 15 months post op. I hit my goal of losing 156 pounds at 13 months post op and have been maintaining for three months now. I started out at a size 24-26 and am now in a medium/size 12. I am having hip replacement surgery this Thursday. Getting in the way of having all of my skin removed so that will have to wait! More active then ever. I am so happy I did this, just wish I did it 10 years ago!

    Hair loss?

Talk to your nut and surgeon. When I told mine he put me on several Vitamins specifically for hair loss. He said that your hair goes through a seven month cycle. I took the vitamins for three months and the hair loss stopped and started regrowing. I am 16 months post op now and my hair is back to normal. It was a rough Vitamin routine as you took something different every two hours during the day. If your doctor does not have this you can PM me and I will be glad to type it up for you! I am still on Biotin, multi vitamin and Calcium.

    I am hungry!

When I was on liquids, I had three protein drinks a day. It took me an hour and a half to drink one. Then I drank water, clear broth, etc. Throughout the day. I was always drinking something! Keep yourself hydrated!

I am surprised how quiet our group has been! I have been really busy getting ready for surgery next week. Trying to get everything done around the house and work as I will be tied up at home for 6-8 weeks. Having hip replacement Thursday. Can't wait to get it over with and start using my new body more! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
