Sam's Club does carry the Premier chocolate shakes. Those were my favorite when I was drinking Protein shakes. In did not have my first fill until six weeks out and that is the only one I have had. Best wishes to all of you newbies!

Each office may be different. I did not have a specific diet for the six months. I say the NUT and learned a lot and changed a few things on my own. Lost a little, but nothing to write home about. Agree that you should follow what ever your program tells you to do.

Slimed; What is it???
SueBee01 replied to Patti.Ramsey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Taylor 94, I also have weird hours. I don't eat breakfast and have lunch at noon and dinner at 6 or 7. If you are only drinking and eating one meal, that may be part of the problem too. Hopefully you are not starving by the time you are eating real food and eating either too fast or too much. I agree with the only eating when hungry, but try food for the breakfast meal instead of just drinking. Keep us posted. -
Biggest Challeges This Far?
SueBee01 replied to lexx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may find that steak just doesn't work. I very rarely eat steak. As for Snacks, depending on how far out you are... I take LF Peanut Butter cheese crackers and only eat two to tie me over until I can eat. Or a half dozen almonds, dried fruit, cheese, multigrain crackers (I love Special K crackers), individually packages prunes, or turkey Jerky. I always have a snack available and have a drink in my hand at all times. Good luck all! -
I just made sure I took the pain meds at night so that I got a good nights sleep. You need that to heal. You also need to make sure you get as much fluid in you as you can. You do not want to become dehydrated. That will also cause pain. Believe us, it will get better. Keep the faith and make sure you drink.

Elcee is spot on. It's not always that we are eating right, is that we are programed to eat three meals a day and two snacks! I did that for several months and my NUT kept telling me to only eat when I was hungry. It took several months for me to allow myself to only eat when I am hungry and ignore what I have grown to do or even what others do. I would suggest a new surgeon, but most importantly, lof everything you eat and all of your exercise so you can really see what you are doing and then review that with your NUT. A typical day for me is two meals and one snack for 500-525 calories and I exercise for an hour each day for about 500-600 calories burned. I have done this for two months now and really feel great! It really took a lot to break old habits and doing what you think is right. I was also getting all of the Protein and supplementing with a Protein Drink each day to get in 70 grams and still at only 700-750 calories a day and again she said ONLY EAT WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY. You don't know how much she drilled that into my little brain! But, I will tell you, she was right.

What did your doctor say? My first post op appt was at six weeks and I was told not to do strenuous or pool exercise until after that appointment, but that doesn't mean no exercise. I bicycled and walked. Each doctor has different requirements.

Not according to my plan. They are there to educate you and get you focused on what you are getting into with the changes you need to make to be successful.

Two Weeks Post-Op And Only Lost 12Lbs Is This A Good Number?

It's great! Your body is still healing and you really can do any intense exercise yet. Keep it up! -
Check with your NUT. I am 7 mo out and not counting protein anymore. And, no liquid protein. Focused on dense protein, healthy meal and only when hungry. Most days is only twice a day. Everyone and every dr/NUT is different.

You will find the hernia pain longer then the band. Keep the bra off, it is much better for the first few days because of where that incision is.

Congrats! Walk a little at a time as often as you can. I got up and walked around my dining room table the first couple days. You will feel better soon. -
My husband liked it so much I made it again last night and added mushrooms.

It may not be their brand. They sell a few brands. Try online. I used to buy the Fortress Super Advantage Whey powder in vanilla and strawberry. Mix and match until you find what works.

Congratulations! Take it easy for several weeks. Let your body heal, then go full force!

I agree! I just did some shopping today. I was a 24-26 in January and today I could go into Lane Bryant and pretty much fit in to any 16 and some 14 tops. I was amazed! And yes, people do make more positive comments when your clothes fit you better. What a great feeling! Congrats to you!

I say don't worry about it. I go by my scale! When I go to my NUT hers says one thing and an hour later I drive to my surgeons office and his says something wpelse. Remember that your weight fluctuates several times during the day so you may never be the same at home and then when you get to the doctor's office. I am a scaleaholic too and weigh myself everyday, but really count what happens each Monday. It's all good. Believe in which ever you choose.

If you are having trouble getting the liquid protein down, try different brands. They all taste different. Find what works, or get Syntrax Nectar unflavored protein. It dissolved clear in any liquid or you can mix it with soup. I used to mix it with crystal light. Try to get some protein in, it will help with the hunger too! When I got to mushies, I would eat about 1/4 to 1/2 a c every 2-3 hours and drink water in between. Try to drink as much water as you can too as it helps to give you that full feeling too!

That is too funny! Glad your family is OK.
