  1. Find things to occupy your time! The first couple days are the hardest, but you will make it. Just make sure you drink all the time and keep hydrated. Believe me, it is well worth it!

    Very Tired!

I think it is just catching up with you. I did not feel totally like myself until about six weeks out. I don't think the calorie intake is a problem. My doctor says the same thing. God know there is still enough fuel (fat) in my body even after losing 127 pounds. I am still at 500-600 calories a day and feel great. Do you have sleep apnea? I think you still need some rest and need to recuperate. Call your doctor if you don't get over it soon. I slept a lot the first month.
  3. You just have to remember to chew until you have true mush before you swallow. Take your time and wait between bites. I chew really well, but have a hard time waiting between bites. It really takes a lot of concentration.

    What Vitamins Does Everyone Use?

I also take a capsule for B complex and Centrum chewable multiple. Love the Bariatric Advantage lemon chewable calcium!

    Here Is My Dog

Thanks Maddysgram. I have found that giving the lab a toy they cannot shred helps. I give them real bones from the feed store and lattes toys, no cloth, plastic or raw hide. It has worked for both my lab mixes. Good luck!

    Back At It.

We are here for you. I agree with the logging food and tracking your exercise. It holds you accountable. You can do it!

    Cpap

New model of CPAP. It is pretty quiet, but I cannot adjust the airflow. I can only adjust the ramp up time. I have it set on 20 min so that I am asleep before the Hurricane starts!

    This Is Very True

I do have a sweet every once in a while, but it is ONE bite and that is very satisfying for me. It has to be whatever you can manage/control. Everyone handles sweets different. Most of us know our triggers and we need to manage them and keep them in control. My NUT doesn't say no to anything as long as it fits in the plan. And, no Halloween candy last night either. That is an accomplishment, last year I was eating it as I was handing it out!

    Cpap

I have had mine for 10 months. I have lost 126 pounds and at about 80 pounds I went for my followup and did a pulse oximeter reading over night and then he cut the air pressure down. I was having the same problem. I can't stand it! It was waking me up after 4 hours and then I couldn't get back to sleep with the force of air. It still helps me to get to sleep quick, but I am hoping it goes away soon! Now I usually wear it half the night.

    Why Greek Yogurt?

I don't like the sour Greek either. I get the Fiber One light peach or Dannon light peach and add a little cereal for crunch. The All Bran little pellets! The look like rabbit food. That replaces the granola!

    Its Almost 11 Months

What a great job you have done! Congratulations. You are an inspiration to all. I am 9 months out, down 125 pounds and still have cravings. I have let myself back into some sweets and know that I need to cut that out. Even though it is just a bite, I know those carbs are adictive! Way to go!

    October 2012 Bandsters

Lilbrigy, You will be fine. I was scared to death, but it was not bad at all. The will put a numbing spray on your port and then inject saline. Then you will drink some water to make sure you can swallow it ok. Let them know how hungry you have been and how long between meals. Your goal shouldn't be to always get fills, but to get to the point where you aren't physically hungry all the time and can be satisfied for several hours at a time. Good luck! Let me know how you do!
  15. I am going to be the odd ball here just to give you another story. I am out 9 months. I started out with 3 small meals a day and a snack for about 700-800 calories. My NUT kept trying to get me to get off a "schedule" and only eat when I am hungry and eat what I enjoy. I really have not been hungry since being banded and have only had one fill. At the 5 month point I finally started eating only when hungry so most days I don't eat until noon and have my second meal at 6 or 7 pm and a very small snack before bed for about 500-600 calories. I work out 1-1/2 hours a day in the pool and stationary bike. I am down 125 pounds so far and have about 40 more to meet my doctor's goal. He wants me at 160 I was thinking 180 so we will see! We are all different so I would really suggest having a really in depth conversation with your NUT. I do every 3 months and we change the types of food I eat each time too, adding or changing certain things. Like this visit she wants me eating more sweet potatos and Beans. Go figure... Good luck, experiment and talk to your NUT to see what will work best for you. Every surgeon/NUT is different.

    Vacation!!

Have a great time! I just got back from a two week cruise to NE and Canada in early October. They have a great fitness center on board ship, I worked out twice a day and lost 7 pounds. Ask them to cook things the way you want it done, they will! They had great SF deserts too, I tried several but only a bite! It was great. Have fun!

    Confession Time

I use the three bite rule a lot! I stayed away from the wrong things for several months and found I didn't need some of them anymore, but there are some times I really want other things. My NUT really says you have to eat what you like and also feel satisfied. So when I go for Mexican, I have three chips with salsa, then I eat my chicken taco (minus the shell). I have finally gotten to a point where I can have one bite of something and move on. Don't beat yourself up. Recognize what you need to change and move on. You will get there! We all go through it.

    Hello...another Newbie

Shanitha, welcome! Glad you are making the choice to become a healthier you. Exercise is a huge part of a successful band, so please try to find the things that you can do. I too could not exercise when I started. I found that the pool was the best thing, even if you just walk in the water! Also, I spent 20 and bought a little set of pedals and started out pedaling, while sitting in a comfortable chair, for 15 minutes at a time. Now I do 60-75, even on the days that I go to the pool. Good luck and ask as many questions as you need to!

    Pain In Intestines?

I was sore in the port area for a month too. Out 9 months now and no further problems. If you can't stand it call your doctor, but I don't think a little pain there is unusual.

    Why Does Caffeine..

Keep in mind that for every cup of caffeine you drink you have to drink double in water to stay hydrated. I never drank coffee, but was an iced tea freak! Now no soda and no iced tea, but I do drink an occasional hot decaf tea when I am cold.

    Trouble Eating Randomly?

As zoos as you can, get some out. You do not want to stay like this sliming all the time and possibly cause other problems. Stay safe.

    Dilemma

It takes time, it will keep coming off. I had the same problem, I had to shop around a lot to find the "curvy" jeans/pants! I hate wearing a belt too. I lived in dresses for quite some time too. I think I will always be curvy, but now a smaller curvy! Congrats on your weight loss and keep going!
