After losing lots of weight, does anyone have issues with their port showing?
SueBee01 replied to Lapbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can feel it, but can't see it. If you have plastics later they can change it out for a smaller one. -
Need help feeling down

The tuna was probably ok, I never would have done lettuce this early on. Kiel up the great work with the mushies! -
Glad you did great. You will have many more nervous times through the process, but it is normal. It gets exciting, then scary, then exciting again. Don't worry, you will make it through all of it!

First post-op appointment

I agree with your doc, you shouldn't be getting fills until you can start eating real food. Great job, keep up the good work! This takes lots of patience. -
Eating without restriction

Don't try for full, look to be satisfied. That is also why it is important to be selective with what you eat. A lot of the mind game is being satisfied. -

What a great feeling! I think I just did my last bit of shopping at Lane Bryant. I am now in a size 14 too. It is an amazing feeling. I bought my first pair of white jeans today. Who would have ever thought. Great job!

I don't think you need a fill based on you sample menu. You went 4 hours between meals when you ate real food. Try no protein drink and add some dived ham and cheese to that scrambled egg and a half slice of wheat toast. I was the same way until I went off the protein drinks. I am nearly 11 months out and one fill. Base your hunger on eating real food. No matter how many fills you keep having, liquid is going to go right through unless you are too filled and that is when you have other problems. -
You look awesome, congratulations!

No eating and drinking....

Eat when you are hungry, do not eat to a schedule. Sometimes I just have a couple banana chips and almonds until I want to eat a meal. You have to figure out what works or you. -
There have been others to have this happened and were able to have the band removed, repair hernia and replaced band. Good luck.

Did anyone start with a BMI in the 50's? What were your results?
SueBee01 replied to winkie80's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctor said the sleeve would be a good choice, but because he was afraid that at 330 lbs he did not think I could commit to the exercise required. I told him I was a prior athlete and would be able to do it. I headed to the pool 5 days a week and for the last 10 months I have only missed a couple days. I exercise every day! I had a BMI of 51 and I have lost 139 lbs in 10.5 months. It is hard work, but well worth it. I do feel that it is slowing down now that I am getting closer to goal. I am 5'8" and my dr wants me at 160, I am shooting for 170. I am at 191 now. Good luck with whatever you decide! -

What's Your Current Band And Fill Size?
SueBee01 replied to Banderina's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It also depends on how you are eating. If you drink your meals or eat sliders (food that can go straight through) like chips, ice cream, yogurt, you will not get that full feeling. If you eat dense Protein like chicken, fish, eggs then begins and good carbs you should be able to go 3-4 or 4-5 hours without needing to eat. I doesn't always mean that you are not hungry because you need to determine real hunger fro. Head hunger too. That took me 4-5 months. When you feel hungry see how long it was from when you ate and evaluate what you ate, then ask yourself are you really hungry or head hungry. Find something to do to distract yourself and if the hunger is still there, have a healthy snack like cheese or almonds. Just a small amount. If that satisfies you then you are good! It takes a lot of getting used to and patience. -
Also depends on prior health issues and age. I take a chewable multi and calcium, Biotin and B complex.
