I too started losing at the three month mark. My nut put me on many different Vitamins every two hours during the day for three months. It stopped falling out and has all come back. It is different for everyone. Check with your nutritionist, mine gave me a printout of what to take. It was a really weird combination of many vitamins. I now take Biotin every day whether I need it or not!

Are there any 50 to 60 year old out there
SueBee01 replied to dmh102's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 52 and was banded 11/2 years ago. No problems, just wish I did it many years ago. I have lost 165 pounds and have reached my goal. Am here if you have any questions. You will do fine. -
Surgery Day after tomorrow!!!
SueBee01 replied to PJkitty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Depending on how young your kids are you may want him longer. You just need to take your pain meds as prescribed. The only problem is you can't drive while you take them. Also, no lifting for a couple weeks so if you have little ones that may be a problem. Otherwise you will be fine after a couple days of being home. Just remember, no major activity for six weeks. -
Need Something Crunchy To Replace Chips?
SueBee01 replied to waitingpatiently's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I like Special K multi grain crackers for crackers. I get banana chips from Walgreens, pineapple chips from Walmart, almonds and add Quacker Oat Squares dry cereal for my own trail mix. I like the veggie straws too! -
I wish I would have done that! I do find myself still seeing the old me. My excess skin still has me looking at it as big! I am going straight to the size 12 now and most of it fits nicely. Try them online! I love TN! We used to live in Asheville, NC and go to TN.

Awesome! I was so excited when I got there, thought it would never happen. Congratulations. Keep going! -
I still never find things at Kohl's. if i remember right, you live in FL also. Try Bealls and Ross. I find great deals there, usually better then the consignment store.

Another "too tight" or "swollen" question.
SueBee01 replied to tye in tx's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is great. I would continue on the liquids for the 24-48 hours to make sure and slowly work to mushies. If you have any further problems, I would get some out. -
That's great! Keep up the good work.

New Here -- So many questions / concerns
SueBee01 replied to debbie813's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost weight at a fast pace and had hair loss. I told my surgeon and he and my nutritionist put me on a vitamin regime for three months and it stopped falling out and grew back. I am at goal and have no problems. The head hunger is the hardest thing to deal with and learning that your taste buds change, you are no longer on a schedule to eat. You have to learn to only eat when you are truly hungry as now you are eating to fuel your body not your emotions! I was 51 when I was banded and was over weight my entire life. For the first time in my life, I am at a normal weight and BMI and I am now 52. It is exciting and really motivating to go through all of the changes during this journey. -
The good thing is that you are in sales so you should be doing a lot of talking which should distract people from how much or "little" you are eating. Just eat healthy and you will be fine. I ate out almost every day the first 6-8 months that I was banded as I didn't cook back then. I still eat out a couple times a week now. Go on line and plan your menu out ahead of time and it will make it easier. Most have nutritional menus on line so you can really see what you are ordering. It is scary, but helps to make the selection much easier!

any regrets? is it harder or easier then you thought?
SueBee01 replied to WheelCrazy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wish I would have done it sooner in life. Being over weight 51 years was too long! Better journey then I expected. The year flew by and so did the pounds! -
That pulling feeling is normal. Remember, it will take a while to heal. It took me about four weeks before that pulling sensation went away. Just a reminder that you need to take it easy!

This was a quick decision to just do something since I have three weeks of vacation time to still use and it was cheap! We are going to Nassau, San Juan, St Thomas and Grand Turk for a week. I don't retire for six years, but will do this to help out my friend, learn about the business and earn a little extra money! Went to work today, hating that. Much nicer working from home!

Just check it because it may have lots of sugar. Hard to find low sugar in the fountain drinks. I do the Crystal Light Peach Tea or Snapple Diet Peach Tea! Mio also makes a tea I mix with Crystal Light Lemonade.

Looking for buddy/mentor Atlanta,ga

Don't think of it that way. While I was losing, I stayed away from certain foods, but always ate something I liked. Mt nutritionist always said to love what you eat, just make it healthier. Now that I am at goal, I eat pretty much anything I want, just a little of it. Don't deprive yourself of taste! -

Thanks Chrissy and Nicki! Great job both of you! I am so excited to get back to doing real stuff, two more weeks! I just planned vacation for December and hope that I will really be able to enjoy it. A week cruise out of Miami (if anyone is interested it was really cheap) and then we are meeting the in-laws for a week in Ft. Lauderdale. Maybe I should have switched that around to have my own relaxation time! Slowly working toward my retirement job. I am starting to work with my travel agent so i have something to do when i retire! So let me know if you ever need assistance! Hope everyone has a great week!

It is great for the veterans and I hope to start to see more communication going on here too. I am 1 1/2 years out, at goal, had hip replacement this summer and can't wait for a couple weeks so I can really test my new body out after losing 165 pounds. I am thankful every day for my band and all of the support from everyone!

Where's everyone from?

Go back to drink liquids for a day or two and then to mushies and see how it goes. If it doesn't get better you need to call your doctor and get a little taken out. You will be swollen from throwing up and getting stuck so the liquid only should help.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I went to the pool to exercise both yesterday and today. Hard to do during the week!
