Try to get rid of the protein shakes. I don't drink them at all anymore. Really makes a difference. Better then getting a fill.

    liquid diet

Chicken and beef broth are considered clear liquids. You can google clear liquids and get a list.
  8. Jewel, you sound exactly like me when I was there. I was very lucky too. I have only had one fill since banded over a year ago. I rarely eat three times a day, but do snack a little. Never really hungry. Down 149 pounds. Stick with what is working!
  9. The other thing you have to watch out for is constipation. Walk for the gas, but make sure once you start food that you are adding fiber. We lose that with our new menu.

    New Here

It is very hard to drink small sips! I had a hard time with that too. Hang in there. Just keep a drink in your hands at all times. Because you are drink such a small amount at a time you have to do it much more! I still have to keep a drink with me all the time. Just another change we have to make to succeed. Keep pushing the liquids!

Today was a rough day! I put together a bake sale at work today to raise some money because I send troops care packages every three months and it helps me pay for the postage. The rough part was I had to man the table for three hours! I managed to only put down one hard boiled egg, two munchkins (my downfall) and a strawberry. Then my boss' wife brings in a ton of lasagna and cookies and I had to o it all over again at lunch! I had a cup of lasagna for lunch. Then we eat out with a group every Thursday night. Tonight's special was lasagna, go figure. I had some chicken and a small garden salad. No more junk for me today! I counted everything and still at 800 calories, so even though I hate what I ate, I will survive. On the bike now!

    BURPING

Burping comes with eating too fast, swallowing a lot of air, and can be the first signal that you don't need to eat anymore! If you have that I may throw up feeling then I would say you ate too much. I am a little over a year out and still burp, but not nearly as much as I used to. It is a learning experience!

Nick, you are doing great with the no ice cream. I am very proud of you! Otaknam, welcome. I feel your shivers. I went to college in Mankato many moons ago! Grew up in Roch and have now been in FL for years. You are doing great. I appreciate all the support from you guys. Losing really slow now. Down to 181, 6 more pounds to go. Stressed with the government budget issues and furlough just around the corner. But, I am managing it without ood! Pray for our leaders and that they come to an agreement soon, for all of us!

    NOT Drinking While Eating...SO TOUGH!!!

If you are drinking with your meal you are just washing your food down. Not drinking will help to keep it there longer thus helping to keep hunger away.

    doctor wouldn't fill my band!

I am 5'8" too. My dr set my goal at 160. At my one anniversary I was 184 and he said he was good with that and he didn't car if I lost any more or not. It was my decision. That was 1/30/13. I am now 181.5 and I am not going to try yo get down to that. I figure 175 and then plastics will take care of the skin. I think everyone has to know where they feel comfortable. It is such a change for us. I was 330 and still see myself as a thin person. I am sure that will take time too.

Get up and walk as much as you can. That will really help move the gas out. Keep drinking, all the time!

Hey Nicole, glad you are back! I am the luckiest wife. My husband is awesome. He supports me every minute of every day. I buy the groceries, but we eat out most every day. I order what I want and either bring home leftovers or he eats it. For example today for breakfast I ordered an omelet made with diced chicken breast, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes and cheese with dry wheat toast. I take what I want of it and the rest goes to him and he had a biscuit and gravy with it. It was a fantastic breakfast! I even had a bite of his biscuit and gravy. I have learned not to deprive myself and am managing with the one bite thing. Best to you too! Keep it up.

    Valentine's Day

I too got a lot of chocolate at work today. Aim good about eating one and then I give it away. Everyone else loves that I share it with them. You will get toa time when you can have things in front of you and deal with them. If throwing it away is what works, then I am really proud of you for getting rid of it and you didn't disappoint anyone. That is awesome.

Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's day! I will say that I showed up to work today to find five boxes of candy on my desk! Are. People crazy! I walked around and handed out chocolates to everyone and had 2 chocolate covered cherries. Tonite husband and I went to our clubhouse for dinner. It was great. I had baked crab stuffed fish 1/2 of it, a bite of a twice baked potato and two bites of green beans. Then for dessert they brought us a chocolate lava cake, I had one bite. There was a guy playing a guitar and singing so we ended up staying a little over two hours just talking and listening to music. Now I am home exercising!

    Protein shakes?????

Syntrax nectar unflavored protein powder can be mixed with anything. It has no flavor and I used it in my flavored water. That should help those that don't like milk based drinks!
