Kime-Lou, I would tell that secretary where to go! Personally, I didn't mind telling people. If they asked I told them. I am very proud of the success and support I have had from everyone. Everyone still thinks Ian losing and I just tell them, no trying to maintain. I just think they are so used to seeing me heavy for years! Best of luck to you and tell who ever you want to and don't tell if you don't want to. It is your journey!

Best to both of you! I believe your determination and renewed commitment will help you tremendously.

One fill 14 months ago. I think it was 3cc. I had so much to lose my dr wanted me to have at least one because he said your stomach will shrink. I am never hungry, have never been sick or stuck (knocking on wood!).

Once you finish everything, the process is real quick. I was approved on 24 hours. The three month supervised goes really quick too if you haven't been through that yet? Take that time to start making changes, small ones at first. It will make banded life much easier! I stopped sweet tea and bread while waiting. Your taste buds will change also. I am eating things I never would have eaten pre band!

Don't go expecting anything! They ask about family support and how you feel about what you are getting onto. Really not bad stuff mostly if you know what you are getting in to and your expectations. I have heard that some have talked about depression, etc., so if you have that feel free to talk about it and ow you manage it.

Happy Easter everyone! Haven't heard from anyone for a couple days. Hope all is well with everyone. Played golf this morning, it is beautiful out (about 75). Headed over to my parent's house for late Easter dinner. Ready for some ham, green beans and cheesy hash browns! All planned for.

I averaged 500-600, then 600-700, then back to 500-600, now 600-700. All in 14 months. I was 500-600 when I was not eating breakfast as I was never hungry in the morning. My nut always says don't eat if you are not hungry.

That is great! I eat 1/4 - 1/3 c of oatmeal with raisins for Breakfast, it doubles in size when cooked or a piece of celery with Peanut Butter and raisins. Then I eat half a sandwich made with a flat round multigrain bread or spinach salad with meat, cheese and egg. I also snack on Quaker Oats squares (cereal) it has great crunch and my nut approves it as a grain and fortified with Vitamins. For dinner I have most anything, just 2-3 oz of meat, 1/2 c of a veggie and a good carb (either fruit or sweet potato). Don't get me wrong, I have bad things in small amounts, but I log them. I stay between 700-800 calories. My nut says you don't have to count either as long as it is 1 to 1 1/2 c per meal, healthy, and only eat when hungry. When I was trying to lose I hardly ever ate breakfast. Now I am to maintain. Feel free to contact me on Facebook at Susan Brink or Brinksm on MyFitnessPal.

still struggling...can't get past this point...

Seeing a nut is a great idea. Just make sure they are familiar with the band. Measure your food and eat more often if necessary. Just try to make your portions smaller. It is a big head game. Find things you like, and make them healthy. Try to stay away from the snack foods. You can get through this. -

I finally did it. I've lost 200 pounds

What great success you are having. Congratulations! Hope you are home soon. -
All at once or in small bites? Have you had fills? Could be a few things. 1. Too tight 2. Too big of bite 3. Taste buds changed 4. Not band friendly for you Tell us more about the situation.

What Happens if I get Sick ie: the flu
SueBee01 replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started getting the flu shot. I have not been sick since banded. Eating healthier I think really helps keep the bugs away. -
I use Bariatric Advantage chewable calcium, you can order online. If you set up a monthly auto shipment, there is no shipping charge. The lemon is great. I shop around on the Internet for my multivitamin. Right now I am taking the Centrum chewable bursts. They are like little jawbreaker balls, but soft after the first crunch. I take a b complex, but no added iron. Look at drugstore.com, Walmart, Walgreens and CVS. They all run vitamin specials. You can get the non chewable of most things in a small pill too, you just have to hunt for them. I do like the calcium and multi chewables though.

I agree. I am 14 months post op and put fiber in every drink I have during the day. It really helps. Keep track so that you know how often you go. You do not want to go through the pain of constipation. Once was enough for me early on. If you find yourself not going by day three or four, take Senacot. One pill will get you moving the next day with no cramping.

I am with you. I carry my own sweetener with me. Trying to staynaway from caffeine and chemicals.

Substitute for Pizza? Mac and Cheese?
SueBee01 replied to Karina150's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just tried Papa Murphys pizza today. I got the Delite thin crust, herb red sauce (no added sugar), spinach, chicken, mushrooms, and cheese. You take it home and bake it. I added a litle garlic Ms Dash. I had one piece and it was awesome. The crust cooks crispy so I had no problems. I was very satisfied with one piece. It is like a subway for pizza! You pick what ever you want for your toppings. -
Meredith, Great to hear from you. Glad you are starting to make way with the repairs on your house. Let us know how the kick boxing goes. Boy, you will lose right away with that. I am proud of you being able to go through all the crap you have had to deal with from Sandy. You will soon be back on track. Welcome back!

Ladybandito, sorry to hear about your husband, but glad to hear things are working out! Chrissy, did you make it to Zumba? You can get back on track! Don't know where everyone is this weekend! Raining and really storming here. Had a little hail today and tornado warnings. So we spent the day at the movies and saw Olympus Has Fallen. It was really good. Thanks for your support!
