Where's everyone from?
SueBee01 replied to WheelCrazy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Born in Minnesota, been in Florida forever (near Jacksonville). -
Did you feel restriction prior to your first fill?
SueBee01 replied to newskinnygal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Keep in mind that everyone is different. I never wanted a fill, but was talked in to one and only one since being banded 15 months ago. It is a lot of self discipline, measuring and listening to your body. Some of the burping is from the air they pumped in you if you are newly banded, it is also from eating and drinking too fast, also can be a sign you are full. Measure what you are eating, listen to your body and remember that your mind takes 20 minutes to realize what you have eaten. If you wait the 20 minutes after eating your cup of food, then and only then think about eating more. You should never feel full, you should be satisfied. Eat what you love and what is good for you. It makes all the difference in the world. The more carbs you eat the more you will want. -
Drink as much as you can Lisa to get that cold out! Hope you feel better.

Over eat = Shoulder pain...what the?
SueBee01 replied to WheelCrazy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Even at two weeks it can still be gas, but agree that eating too much may put pressure on nerves. Measure your food. Remember that it take 20 minutes for your brain to tell you that you are satisfied. You can always eat more, but it is hard to go back once you over do it! You will get there! -
Keep in mind a restaurant will put anything in a blender that you need them to or chop it up into small pieces. I ate out almost every meal for the first year! You will enjoy the company and find things to eat.
-
I still eat to fast too but I never get stuck or slime as I only had one fill. You will get there, just cut things up in really small pieces.
-
I can't believe you can only eat 1/2 c. Is that total? What does your dr recommend? My nut says 2-3 ounces of protein, 1/3 c veggie and 1/3 c good carb. You should never be regurgitating either. I hope you find the right place to be comfortable and be able to live life!

If i try 4 bottles Ive done what I should
SueBee01 replied to adugan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the liquid flavors like Mio or Walmarts brand. Mix them all for variety! I never was a water drinker before WLS. I keep a pitcher of Crystal Light lemonade in the frig and when I pour a glass I add a squirt of another flavor to change it up - like peach tea, strawberry watermelon, etc. -
I started over a year ago on a stationary bike for 10 minutes a day. I couldn't even walk. Then after a couple months I headed to the pool for an hour of Water aerobics. As the weight melted off I spread my wings and headed to the gym and started weight lifting and the elliptical. Now I try to bike ride outside. My preference during the week is after work, before dinner. I work out 1 to 1 1/2 hours every day. Lightening up to an hour now that I am at goal, but still doing it as I feel great now!

I live in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Uchal did my surgery. I would recommend him to anyone. He is located at St. Vincents (either location) with N FL Surgeons. I go to him at St. Vincents Riverside and see his NUT Mica at St. Vincents Southside. She is incredible. Never would have been so successful without them. Feel free to call me 904-251-4219 if you want to talk.

What serving sizes really look like
SueBee01 replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My nut recommends cereal for the fiber and vitamin benefits. Just pick a healthy one. I eat Kashi Heart to Heart or Quacker Oat Squares. I usually eat it dry as a snack for the crunch. -
Be careful, you don't want to be constipated. Put additional fiber in your drinks or take a stool softener.

PBT, keep going, you will have stalls. Don't get discourages. Just make sure you are eating right and exercising. It will catch up to you. Doesn't mean you need a fill. Sometimes people change it up to get it started again by changing what or when you eat and your exercise, try a different routine. -
We cruise all the time too! Nothing this year due to hip surgery, but planning a cruise to Europe in 2014. Can't wait!
-
I agree with everyone. You are doing great, but you do need to drink at least 64 ounces a day. Get as much or more in and it will help you feel full too! Don't get fills just to get fills. Let the band work for you. Keep it up!
-
That's great!
-
Try drinking more. That helps me. Or get some healthy dry cereal to snack on.

Today 2 Year Anniversary Here

Congrats! -
I never really ate Breakfast until I got to goal. Was never hungry. Still not, but trying to maintain now. Egg sandwich: 1/2 of an Arnold flat round (toasted or not) 1 egg Little cheese Slice of ham Or oatmeal with raisins and Splenda brown sugar Or Celery with Peanut Butter and raisins You may find that it doesn't even have to be a breakfast food. Eat what you like! Experiment. I snack on dry cereal (Quaker Oat Squares).
