  1. Welcome! this site is an amazing place with a wealth of knowledge and information. I have been approved, I see the nutritionist and psychologist tomorrow. Not sure what is after that. Best wishes on your journey
  2. I meet w/the surgeon tomorrow for a consulatation. I have turned in my insurance paperwork. What can i expect at the consultation? I am pretty sure I am leaning toward lap band. I'm excited and hope this will be a go for me. I've read and learned SO much on these boards, I sure hope to be back with more questions!

    Flying And The Dreaded "extender"

That must be an amazing feeling! The last time I flew I was VERY close to needing one but managed after a few tries and lost of huffing and puffing to get the think buckled. I prayed the lady next to me wouldn't have to get up during our flight because I didn't want to go thru that again. (she didn't). But I was miserable the whole time with the seatbelt and squeezing myself into the seat. I look forward when I can fit into an airplane seat and be (somewhat) comfortable. Same thing for attending ball games and such.

Help! Don't Know Whether To Tell Coworkers..

For me, I'm a very private person, so I don't think I'd tell. I know in the past when I've done Weight Watchers, I'd get comments like "are you supposed to be eating THAT?" I am considering the surgery and at this point I don't think anyone needs to know. I'd probably tell my cat, but I'm pretty sure she'd keep it to herself.
  6. Hi everyone. I am just in the early stages of "thinking about lap band." I mean I've considered surgery for a few years now but just didn't want to go there. I have two friends who have done gastric bypass but for some reason that scares me. But they tell me having a "foreign object" in their body scares them. Can you guys give me your thoughts on this? Looking forward to sharing my journey with those that understand.
