i have BCBS Ohio & The only thing i need was a letter of Medical necessity which was just a letter from my dr stateing my weights from I started going to him till now. he had to write Any other medical history i have & that he talk to me or helped me do a diet & it was not working. & wehter or not he thought i needed it.. I got approved my first time.. Good Luck

Has anyone used Visalus as there Protien drink during there pre or post Opt? Just wondering if it has enough Protien in it?

Finally got my date 10-19 & mayb sooner because they Are moving & only doing lap bands there.

Got my approval on the 14th Just waiting for the dr's office to call & give me my date.. My insurance only required 2 things & I had both of them done quickly... I will have to do a nutrient class & that is the only thing left to do

I have BCBS & my paper work was submitted to my insurance Sept. 4 & was approved the 14.. I am a very impatient person so I called every other day to find out if it was approved yet... Looks like my surgery date is OCt 19th.

I am also just waiting for insurance approval....

Well much to my surprise My doctor actually wrote me up a very nice letter & I was able to pick it up Tuesday & had everything sent in Wednesday & I called the insurance & know they received it & it is pending calling back every day till I hear something ....

So this letter of nessacity from My Primary Doctor is the only thing I have left to get to send it in to my insurance. So I had a doctors appointment with him today & after literally Yelling & crying & Threaten to just find a another doctor He finally agreed to write it for me. I told him I didn't want him to b the judge of whether or not I am getting it done That was a choice my insurance get to make.. So hopefully I can pick it up & fax it tomorrow So I can summit it to my insurance. This Wait is Killing me.. On a good not note when I went to my New patient appointment I weighed in @ 266 & today I weighed in @ 262.

Called in Friday & he still hadn't written it up yet told them I HAD to have it Tuesday Morning & talk to his head office person & she promised me it would be done... Not sure honestly what his issue was about writing this up for me, he is also a morbidly obese doctor & I will give him this much he has never ragged me about my weight, But like I told him I am not happy with my self & my weight & I have tried MANY different ways to lose it & losing it isn't a problem its keeping it off.. So now just praying that I get this letter Tuesday & can get it faxed to my insurance by the end of this week .

Welcome Emily I am also from Ohio & I am just getting started .. I also have tried any diet plans & I do very good @ losing the weight I just cant seem to keep it off.. This is the 2nd time I am going threw the process of the Lap Band 1st time I got pretty far but the thought of surgery scared me to death & I backed out, That was about 3 yrs ago & now I am @ my heaviest weight & decided this time I am going to do it. I am going to Dr. Timothy Custer Lancaster, Ohio for mine. I was going to go to go to trace Curry of Cincinnati but that is a 2 hour drive one way for me so i wanted something closer. I just had my first new patient meeting Monday the 13th & now I am just waiting till they here back from my insurance company on what all is required to be done for them to approve it. Hello there my name is Becky & I am in the begginning stages of the lapband

So I stepped up back on the scales after just a few months of not doing any dieting & realized not only did I gain the weight I lost but gained a few more extra pounds to boot ..Grr I Decided I can't continue to keep doing this to my self. I am 39 yrs old ,5' 5" & weigh MY highest right now @ 270. I have tried many dieting Plans & do good @ losing the weight just not good @ keeping up with the diet plans or keeping the weight off. My biggest complaint is I fell hungry All the time. So I am back @ looking to get the Lap band done & get me back to a healthier person. Right now I have no health Issues but know with the rate I am going it could & will happen. I watched the seminar Friday & called the Office of Dr. Timothy Custer today & got a appointment set up for Monday. I am stoked . Looking forward to the New Journey in My life
