    Negative People Around Me...

Thanks! lol I have to figure out how to use the blender first. haha. Im sure I can figure it out. I never cooked or did anything in the kitchen growing up. My mom was a stay at home mom and pretty much did everything so I am still learning. So people really put chicken in a blender? That seems like it would be gross. I may just have to force myself to eat this stuff...I am such a picky eater its hard to find stuff I like. Which is odd because you would think as picky as I am I wouldnt be over weight lol.

Lol I don't cook or know hardly a thing about food... so when I read the forums im confused on what people are talking about. Also where do I get Protein shakes at? Like the ones at the grocery store? Sent from my Verizon DROID3 using RNYTalk

    Negative People Around Me...

For me its hard because my family is overweight and you would think they would understand...I think they are getting more comfortable with it now...I think they are concerned because I am so young and with any surgery there can be complications and we already lost my brother 5 years ago christmas day in iraq so I think they are scared something might happen....but I feel like if I don't do this something might happen. Sometimes when I go to bed at night idk if im going to wake up I have horrible chest pains and it hurts to lay on my back bc of all the pressure on my chest. Right now I have a good 150 to 180 pounds to lose. Im sick of being depressed about my weight. I've never been so excited to get started with something. I have so much motivation to go workout now and im just getting started...I think when I see the weight coming off I will be even more motivated. Can someone tell me what the average amount of calories is for someone post op? And also another question I have is what are people eating after surgery? I know for a little while its liquids only but I don't really know how to cook very well...and I am not the best grocery shopper lol. I need some advice. And I just want to say that I am here for anyone that needs it. I love this site! If anyone needs extra support or is maybe getting started with the process private msg me if you want to keep in touch through the process. Its always nice to have a friend that knows what your going through :) Sent from my Verizon DROID3 using RNYTalk

    Negative People Around Me...

Blankmama: We must be getting started with the process around the same time then because I am hopefully getting surgery in august as well. My husband has been really good about the whole thing. He is 145 pounds and never had a problem with weight. Him and I met when I was 16 years old and I am now 22. I was a lot skinnier then. But he is so supportive and still loves me even though I am about 100 lbs heavier than when we met. My parents are starting to come around to the idea but both were negative in the beggining. When I talk about it to people in front of them they say things like... " well...if you decide to get this done, there's still alot of thinking to do" and I say ..nooo I've done alot of thinking and research and im getting it done so quit saying that to people. Its frustrating.... I also have a 17 year old sister who want is against it as well...I got into an argument with my family about it because of the negativity and I basically told them that this is my life and my decision, I need to do this for me and my daughter. I want to live longer and be healthier. I told them if they had anything bad to say about it to keep it to themselves and start supporting me because no matter how good of an act someone puts on its still scary and im extremely nervous and I need them to be there for me. And since then they have been and have been going to my appointments with me to get a better idea of what is going to happen. Good luck with the negative people in your life and im here to support you if you need it Sent from my Verizon DROID3 using RNYTalk
  9. I want to know if anyone out there has gotten pregnant after the surgery and how did it go? Are there complications with delivery? Or the pregnancy?

  11. Oh wow krista! That's awesome! Good job and good luck with the rest of your journey. Its so good to hear other people doing so well. Congrats on the children is the liquid diet hard? Im nervous about that part. What exactly do u drink on a liquid diet? Like slim fast? Sent from my Verizon DROID3 using RNYTalk
  12. Oh gosh! This is all starting to really scare me...I've done aton of research and this week I am attending a support group and will be attending about 6 more in the next 4 to 6 months before surgery. I don't want to make the wrong decision. The reason I am going with gastric bypass is because I heard you lose the weight alot faster than lap band. I think once I see the weight all coming off it'll motivate me to work even harder ...ecspecially after having a baby and needing to lose the weight then. I am so lucky to have a very supportive family that is willing to watch my daughter whenever I need to workout and my husband is not able to. My mom is always in weight watchers and works out 4 to 5 times a week so she keeps me very motivated. Sent from my Verizon DROID3 using RNYTalk
  13. Thanks everyone for the input. Here in lansing michigan at the hospital I go to they said 18 months. I think I could probably lose all the weight I need to, to be healthy enough to get pregnant in 18 months. And who knows I could start trying once 18 months hits and it could take me two years to conceive. I don't want to do anything to harm the baby that's for sure! Its devastating once you've been trying for so long and it isn't happening and its due to my weight...it makes me feel like a failure as a mom. I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone but...its just hard. Sent from my Verizon DROID3 using RNYTalk

    Pregnancy After Gastric Bypass

Thank you for sharing! Yes that does definitely help The more I read on here the more excited I get about having it done. So your process of everything you had to do before surgery start to finish only took about 4 months? I hope I can get mine done that quickly. I feel like I am on a time crunch because I don't want to wait forever to have another baby. Im only 22....but my daughter is going to be 4 in June and I don't want my kids so far apart. Pregnancy After Gastric Bypass

    Pregnancy After Gastric Bypass

Thank you ladies for the replies! So do you think it was easier to get pregnant after RNY? I am hoping that I am more fertile after the surgery. Right now I weigh more than I did when I delivered my first child almost 4 years ago. It just got out of hand after I was pregnant. I have a lot of issues with high blood pressure and also had eclampsia about 8 days after delivery for my daughter. So I am hoping the weight loss will reduce my chances of that again. I just started with the process...I've only went to the informational session and the first appointment ..my next one is april 25th and its the metabolism test and some other stuff...I've been watching what I eat and working out and so far lost almost 10 pounds in a month im excited. I feel like I will have more control after this surgery. Sent from my Verizon DROID3 using RNYTalk

    Pregnancy After Gastric Bypass

Hi, I am new to this site...but I wanted to ask you....was the pregnancy hard after having surgery? I currently have a daughter who is almost 4 and have been trying for another one for a year now which lead me to my decision to have the gastric bypass surgery done but I am nervous about getting pregnant afterwards. I've heard alot of people say the csection is much more painful...did you have a csection by any chance? Any advice or details you could give me would be awesome Sent from my Verizon DROID3 using RNYTalk
  19. Hey everyone I am new to the site. I just got started with the whole process of gastric bypass. I am a little nervous but also so excited. I am 22 years old and my husband and I have been trying for our second child for a year now, which is what made me decide to have this done. Its been very hard coming to terms with the fact that I cannot conceive for 18 months after the surgery. I think I am starting to become okay with it now, knowing that this will hopefully improve my chances of getting pregnant. Any advice would be awesome! Has anyone out there conceived after the surgery? If so, was it hard? And were you sick a lot? Thanks everyone!
